That looks just like my last exam. For remembering bacteria names and the diseases they cause try flashcards. That's what worked the best for me. I would say just go through that study guide & your notes and try to cover as much as you can. Maybe skim it and go back to the stuff you think he'll really focus on? Good luck, I'll send some good thoughts your way!:redpinkhe

Looks just like my last exam too - I concur with the PP that flashcards are the way to go. Also learning the roots of the names (e.g. cocci - round, bacillus - rod, strepto - grape like cluster) is useful as it refers to a lot of the names.

Flashcards of word definitions (glycocalyx, gram positive, gram negative, virus structure etc) might be useful.

That looks a lot like what we covered on our first exam. I am by no means doing great in this class but on the info I do know well it's because I made 4x6 study cards that I carried everywhere and I looked at whenever I had a few moments. For memorizing the bacteria names and characteristics and stuff like that I would sit down with blank paper and I would write each detail 7 times that I needed to memorize. As I would write it I would think about the info on it I needed to know. My hand would cramp up by the end of it but it did help me. Also repeating it out loud 7 times would help. My kids think I am crazy when I do that but I'm trying whatever I can to get it to stick. I got really behind with that 1st test material and I'm majorly trying to play catch up.

What questions on there are you specifically stuck on? I'm sure we can at least help you there. Hugs !

thanks to all that responded. i havent answered from 28 downwards. i got stuck

any anwers for me plz and for those who said the exam was just like this...do you still have your study guide with the answers? thank you

I can't believe that I can be so excited for someone that I don't even really know, but I am. That is awesome news and you had better keep us updated on how NS goes. I am hopefully starting in Aug 2009 so I need details, LOL.

Thanks so much, that really means a lot!!! I promise I'll keep ya'll updated on how it goes. My program is an accelerated ADN so I'll be done with the first "year" by August and I'll be able to tell you what to expect. Good luck, you'll do great!!!

I'm freaking out!! I have a lab test on Monday and I **blanked** out on the last one!! :dzed: Yup, that's me scared silly it will happen again. On the bright side I've gone off caffeine during the last couple of weeks because I read it will help calm your nerves for nursing school.....I hope it helps for this!!!

You'll do great!!! I'll be thinking about you but I know you're more than prepared and you'll be just fine! :D

On a side note, maybe I should go off caffeine too if it will calm my nerves...my doctor called me a "stressball" the other day and that can't be a good sign. :uhoh21:

I've been reading about nerves, shaking during clinicals, and lots of advice to help.....the caffeine was a constant suggestion. I will say it has about killed me doing it!!

Congratulations! That is so wonderful for you, I can't wait to be able to post the same thing (hopefully this Spring).
