Hi ya'll! Anybody taking Micro this coming fall semester and want to form a study group? I did this for A&P I and II and it helped tremendously! I'm taking it along with Chem 1151 (Survey of Chem). Thanks!

Hey guys,

No, unfortunatly he doesnt drop the lowest grade, we have 6 tests, one of which is a departmental final and another is a lab take home final exam. We dont have a lab midterm but we have that take home final lab exam. and 4 regular 100 pts chapter tests one down so 5 more to go. Im nervous but its definitly interesting!

We are now on Ch. 12 which is mainly antibiotics. We have to memorize the names, modes of action and tons more about them..aaah

Here's where making a chart and organizing the material can really help. I got REALLY good at using the Tables function in Word while taking micro. LOL! For antibiotics, I did one column of names, one column of drug class/type, one column for site(s) of action... you get my point. Then I walked around muttering them to myself as I read them. It worked for me; your mileage may vary. :)

We start chapter 12 tomorrow. I have been SO good at being able to stay ahead and read the chapters before the class starts - but I am still trying to finish up chapter 10. its just going too fast for me!! I love the idea of making a table - thanks for the heads up! I'm definatly going to squeeze that in somehow.

Hey guys,

My teacher is ALL about memorizing. But not the information in the books, instead he write notes on the board...and we copy it. every single thing. Then his tests are DIRECTLY from his notes. 60 mp questions and 5 short answer. our first test was EVERY SINGLE detail from our notes. i made flash cards for everything. went down from start to finish in my notes and got an 85% on the exam. i was so pushing for the A but i realize that flash cards is my way to go for this teacher/class. Three cheers to being half way through midterms are here! woohoo! keep it up everyone we are doing great! How many other classes are you guys taking inaccordance with this one? I am taking 4 classes in total, so 3 more with this one. psych 2, socio 2, and a computer class.

You know, on my exam, my teacher put a diagram of an organism, and the first question after the exam corresponded with the diagram, the second one however did not. But focourse I THOUGHT it did and got it wrong. It was a flagella question. The diagram had Peritrichous,(sp) but the question wasnt about the picture, it was in general and described a bacteria with flagella, 3 on the right side. It was lopotitrchous (sp). I wish i had read the question better. Hopefully next test..(2 wks) will be my a.

I love that I can come here too and tell you all my grade. My co-workers and friends just dont get how hard we work for these grades in this class.
