got accepted to university of texas @ tyler - palestine! start 2 prereq. nursing classes in may then full time in august.

Congrats! I got my acceptance letter last week to UT Tyler @ Palestine Campus. I went and visited it and it seems very nice!

I am 25 and applying to 2 different nursing programs for the fall 09. I have 3 children, ages 7 6 & 3. I am going to be honest with you..w/out my husband there is no way I could do it! I really don't think so anyway. I had to quit my fulltime job of 7 years to finish school so he is left w/ all of the bills and helping me w/ the kids!

I use flaschards/notecards for everything too! That is the only reason I have a 99 average in Microbiology right now!

We are now on Ch. 12 which is mainly antibiotics. We have to memorize the names, modes of action and tons more about them..aaah my head is really starting to hurt

the best thing i have found so far is flashcards. make as many as u need w/ the question on one side & answer on the other..hopefully u will have some sort of review. Go through them and put the ones u answer correctly in one pile and the ones u miss in another. Dont stop until you have all of them in one pile!

I absolutely HATE intervies. The "describe a time when"...questions always get me!! And why are you qualified for this position? I personally am TERRIBLE at talking good about myself..I would rather show you that I can do a good job!

i would take micro. at our college it is a prerequisite so it must be important! chemistry is only required for your bsn.

i think prokaryotes use their cell membrane for energy because they dont have any membranous organelles such as mitochondria. our instructor told us yesterday they use their cell membrane for energy not ATP.

our ch 2 is chemistry too. maybe we are using the same book? I HATE chemistry. All i know about covalent bonding is that they share electrons & in ionic bonding one loses & one gains. the reason they dissolve in water is because water is polar & attracts positive and/or negative ions..i think who knows we had a chemistry quiz yesterday..not sure how i did! did yall have to build the little models?

I DO NOT like online classes at all! I try to avoid them if at all possible but it looks like next semester I will probably be taking philosophy and/or lifespan & dev. online! YUCK!

Im taking nutrition this fall 2 so far so good.. we have to track our meals for 2 days and write down nutrition info for two labels. stuff like that so far..next is the digestive system..i can tell it will get harder soon.

I KNOW! I have 3 children & am only 25 yrs old. I still feel like one of the oldest ppl in my class! But hopefully it will be worth it in the end!

i think some people like having difficult jobs so they have the right to whine if they want..makes them feel special i guess
