Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Published

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

Hey I am applying for fall 2015 ( generic nursing full time) and I finished all the pre-reqs for admission. Now in spring semester, I am taking stat and nutrition, sociology for rn to bsn in the future.

My grade from stat, nutrition and sociology will also affect overall GPA for nursing generic admission for fall ? Does anybody know this?

If you turn in you application now it will only reflect your overall GPA that you current have, but after 5/01/15 due date to turn in applications I guess grades will show on the system

I also need to take statistics. I'm also taking nutrition this semester. I need a good professor for statistics. Please let me know how your class goes.

What campus will you be taking the class? I took statistics in Fall with Gisela Muniz ( Munoz, something around that name) , it was in the Kendall Campus. Her class is straightforward, no book needed, and overall easy if you never skip one class.

I did statistics at North campus with Carlos Gil, good professor and no book needed. Finish the class with an A but you do have to study amd go to class because what he write in the board its in the test

About this issue, I went to an advisor in Medical campus.

If I take stat, nutrition, etc now, it will affect overall GPA for fall admission. Application due for the fall nursing is May 1. You cannot submit your application for fall semester later.

My advisor recommended for me to take stat and nutrition in summer so that this classes won't affect my current GPA, which is 4.0. By the time, admission process will be done, so my summer class will not affect admission for fall nursing. This is what I got from her.

Thanks for the feeback. Oh Lord then all my classes count !!! I thought if I summited my application I will stay with the current gpa i have.

Hi, all!

I will be applying to the fall 2015 AO. I have my bachelors from UF and my current GPA is 3.7. I'm finishing my nursing pre-reqs this semester. A couple of questions: Can anyone tell me how to calculate my science GPA?

Those of us who will complete our application requirements this semester, when are you applying for fall 2015 (is it better to wait towards april)?

Can only students with a bachelors apply to the AO program?

Are you allowed to apply to AO and generic option to increase your chances?

And lastly, has anyone heard if the AO has a better acceptance rate and why?

I applied yesterdAy! I went just to ask a question and couldn't resist. Now 5 month to wait!!!

A lot of people are applying now. I don't think it matters.

You can apply both AO and general. I did both.
