Hi All,

I realize that I post rarely in this area. But I wanted to get as much input as possibile from people in this community. Anyway, how do you all deal with stress? Sometimes, I find it difficult to handle my stress, so right now I am looking for new means for handling it.

Right now, my biggest two stress relievers are using the computer, and driving my truck. But sometimes, these relievers fail me.

Thanks to everyone in advance.

Nick

1) schnuggling & talking with my husband

2) schnuggling with my 2 fur babies

3) meditation

4) yoga

5) reading

6) sitting on my back porch with a glass of good chardonnay watching the traffic go by

a good book, good glass of wine, hot bath, nice music, going up a mountain (can do that here, not where I was born), walking on the beach ( this is difficult where I live now), cuddling with husband (but why is it men (or at least, my man) always want "real sex" after the cuddling?), shopping with my daughter and snoezelen (=schnuggling) with my old cat.

The latest thing here, I had 5 tennislessons and I love it!!

Take care, Renee

Yes, indeed, exercise! Reading a good book (getting lost in a good book is more like it!) is helpful as are singing, baking, & yardwork!

I'll take the snuggling & lovemaking anytime! :D

Don't ever forget the simple things such as a kind person saying Hi to you. Or someone lending you a hand when you need it the most. Those also relieve stress.

When nothing else works, I get into my truck and drive. I drive aroung the perimeter of the city (there's a highway that loops around winnipeg). I crank up the car sterio and sing at the top of my lungs.

Good to see someone else who enjoys that also. What kind of truck do you have? I have a 1991 Silverado.

exercise particually cycling, I cycle to work and back which gives me some space to get things into perspective,

a good moan on the phone to work colleague or friends,

large glass of red and a good book in the bath.

good night out particually one involving friends loud music and maybe a bit of alcohol.

planning and going on holiday

Hey Ted, Bubbles the dainty 135 lb dog...I understand completely. I have always have German Shephards, my last was 95 pounds and thin for her height. I refered to her as my little woobie dog. I now have a 40 lber who is emaciated for her height(!!!!!) and I consider her a little dog. People look at me like I am nuts. I just say "if you met my last dog you'd know why this one is small to me...."

Talking with my friend but not on the subject that cause me the stress. Exercise. Read a good book.

I drive a 98 Honda CRV. Sometimes I call it a car, sometimes I call it a truck. That's some good driving.

How I relieve stress? Kill my husband! No, just kidding. I play walleyball at the Y or walk. It really helps to calm me down.

Beer. Cigars. Golf, but that can add to the stress if i have a crappy round. In the winter I ***** nonstop about the weather, politicians, morons that re-elect the politicians and surf teh net looking for a place to live in Myrtle Beach, argue with my wife about moving and mess with my African Cichlids (for those that don't know they are fish, mean ones) Somtimes I just look at the kids while they are sleeping. If nobody is home I'll turm my guitar amp to 10, (doesn't go to "11") and thrash till my ears really hurt.
