Hello! I didn't see a forum for Fall 2020 applicants so I thought I'd start one. Good luck everyone ?

I apologize for the confusion. It was a typo! It looks like most of us are missing the enclosed details on how to submit our TEAS tests.

I just received an email that I did not get selected from the lottery!? I didn’t even get a chance to submit my TEAS test!

Yes ! I received a rejection as well... I don't really see how it is fair that they mailed us about TEAS submission but emails say otherwise..I am a little disappointed that we were not informed they were going to short cut this process!

After receiving the physical mail I was informed on sending my TEAS to move into the next step of the application.

An hour later, I received an email saying that they ran the lottery already and that I wasn’t not chosen for the program. ??

I’m still confused with all of this; I guess the current situation pushed them to run the lottery early.

However I felt like if they considered us sending in our scores, then they could have narrowed down the list to increase our chances.....

Me too!! I feel so frustrated, I had hope after receiving the physical mail and all of a sudden the email sent and said I wasn’t accepted!

I am super confused ??‍♀️ So they send out emails for accepted students and students being denied?

And the email would be to the peralta email correct? I’m super confused as the process seems not to be as it is on the application.

@IreneRN The other times I've emailed them was through the email on their nursing website. Although, they never got back to me

I don’t think it needs to be that email since you did not have to be a student yet to apply. Also I think they conducted the lottery for those who had already passed the first phase which was meeting the chancellors score. They are still requiring to submit the tees to get the final admission decision

I felt it was unfair that they just ran the lottery system without telling us they didn’t need the TEAS scores, as stayed in the application guidelines. I was hopeful for their program!!

does anyone know if they keep a waitlist? Considering they replied much later than other schools and for sure not all a students here will accept admission here.

Well just got the rejection letter ??. Good luck to everyone else waiting on other programs and good luck in the program to the ones accepted ?

I just received the rejection email as well.? I don't understand how we went from being able to move forward with submitting our TEAS scores (phase 3) which in turn would have reduced the number of applicants in the Lottery, to them doing the lottery early. Based on the application:

After Phases 1&2 - Students will be notified of their application status by email or USPS. The letter will explain if the applicant will be eligible to continue to Phase 3. It is the student’s responsibility to notify ADN of address changes. If you have not received a response by April 27th , send an email to [email protected]. Applicants can also check the website for status updates at www.Merritt.edu/wp/NURS/

Phase 3. Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS v. 6) – You will be notified requesting to have your TEAS 6.0 scores sent electronically from ATI at your own expense. TEAS v.6 is a new version of the TEAS exam. We are no longer accepting TEAS 5.0 scores. We accept only FIRST TIME TEAS 6.0 scores.

Phase 4. Lottery - After passing Phase 3, qualified applicants will be entered into a lottery on May 21st to determine the admitted class. Students will be notified of their admission status by email or USPS within 10 days of the lottery. If you have not received a response by June 4th send an email to [email protected].

I really hope this was a mistake. I urge everyone to send an email regarding this. We were directed to follow the application process completely or risk being disqualified. They should follow the process as well. I don't see any reason as to why the TEAS scores would have been cut out, especially without an explanation.
