Merritt College ADN Fall 2020

Hey all,

Bummed to hear this wasn't just a fluke. I too was told to submit my TEAS results, but then 2 hours later I got an email saying I wasn't chosen. Very misleading. As others had said, this is not the way the process is explained on their website. So far Merritt and Chabot is a no-go for me, hoping SF CITY COLLEGE accepts me!

Hey all!

I'm in the same confusing boat as many of you in which I received a physical letter in the mail telling me to send in my TEAS scores, but an email in the mail stating I was not chosen for the lottery. I received both pieces of information within hours of another. I have emailed the Dean, Program Director, and Program Specialist with no replies so far (email was sent Friday). I also called both the Dean (straight to voicemail), and the Program Director who's voicemail stated that they are still going through this round of admissions. Hopefully this all clears up and we get the answers we deserve!

I also received the letter saying that I am eligible to proceed to the next step and I need to submit my TEAS score, but I have not received an email. I emailed the admissions but no response. For those who received an email was it sent to the peralta email or personal email?

I also applied to Chabot and was bummed out that I didn’t get in or make the waitlist for that school. I’m waiting to hear back from CCSF, did you apply to Ohlone as well?

I feel the same way too, had they considered the TEAS scores before the Lottery, they would have narrowed down the list of applicants and given those more qualified a better chance. I feel so bummed out. Are you waiting to hear back from any other schools?

My fingers are crossed for CCSF, COM and Ohlone!

Has it been confirmed that they intentionally ran the lottery without the TEAS scores and that the rejections stand? I got the impression that it may have been a mistake due the voicemail message from the Dean stating they are still going through applications as well as a lack of updates from the website. Maybe I'm just being wishful. Haven't heard anything back from my emails yet.

I definitely don't think it's been confirmed, but since some people got their acceptance letters, I'm not counting on it. ?

It hasn’t been confirmed, they don’t even keep a list of admitted students from previous years on their website. And their lack of communication is so bad too. That dean’s voice message is from 2019 applicants I believe. I am being hopeful too that maybe they can re do the lottery or something ??

I think that they won’t re do the lottery since people have been getting emails for admission and have been sending in signed acceptance forms to the program. Merritt has confirmed those signed acceptance forms(at least in my case ). I think that anyone who’s received a letter saying they’ve moved on to phase two and have not received and email saying they haven’t been accepted at this point are alternates. For those who have received admission and do not meet the TEAS requirements will be dropped; leaving room for those “alternates”. Just a theory of mine. Best of luck to you all.

Hey! Did they end up emailing you to confirm your acceptance? I sent my scanned acceptance letter on Friday!
