Hey everyone! Just wanted to start a thread for applicants for the fall 2017 cohort applicants!
Hi everyone, I graduated from Lone Star in May 2017. I'm still looking for a job. I've been to two interviews with nothing, I've applied multiple positions since then. I also applied to Memorial Hermann residencies for both Summer and Fall, didn't even get called in for a match day interview. My question is for those who have been hired by Memorial Hermann, are yall BSNs or ADNs? I think I'm having a hard time finding a job because I only have my associates's degree. I'm enrolling in an online RN-BSN program in January but a lot of good that does me right now. I didn't think it would be this hard to find a job. Any advice anyone can give me, I would appreciate it.
I'm sorry to hear about your job difficulties. TMC/Children's, Memorical City, and the Woodlands are all magnent hospitals and do not hire ADNs frequently. The other locations do hire ADNs. I know for a fact that Southwest and Southeast hires ADNs. Unfortunately, nursing is super competitive right now for new grads because of the high number of graduates. Good luck!
Hey everyone! I also just applied for the Spring 2018 GN residency today. I put in Memorial City and TMC, and I am super nervous because I just read that they don't usually hires ADN's. I graduate in December, 2017. I'm really trying not to be discouraged though!!! Also, I started a new thread for Spring 2018 applicants....Just FYI :)
Hi y'all,
For those of you that have already been hired, have y'all heard any new information about our first start day? I already signed with memorial hermann and the last I heard from HR they were completing my background check. I was just curious if anybody has heard anything new. Our start date is right around the corner. :)
After your background check/health screen is complete, HR will contact you and go over the first two days with you. Whatever start date you have is when you go to Culture Day at Hermann in Memorial City, and the second day is an orientation at the facility you'll be working at. She told me that now my manager would be the one contacting me for further information, but so far I haven't heard anything else.

Exactly. I just applied for the 2018 February Residency today. I will graduate this December. There is usually just a condition of the contract that you graduate and pass NCLEX to begin the residency.
