Memorial Hermann GN Internship

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I applied to the Memorial Hermann GN Internship for Spring 2010. I was wondering if anyone has gotten an interview or at least an email confirmation that they received you application. I faxed mine in and I have not received a confirmation email yet.I wish you could apply to all of the facilities. I applied to the Katy and Woodlands sites.

Also the application had a troubling line in it.

"Your packet will be reviewed by the facilities you listed if they have a need for interns." I added the italics for emphasis

Looking back I should have called and made sure the two facilities I indicated were hiring. Do they do this (allow you to apply to facilities not hiring) as a way of eliminating applications? Any info anyone has about the internship would be great. Also I live out of state. Would I do a phone interview or fly there?

Thanks in advance

just wondering if anyone who applied for the january internships had heard anything yet. or even gotten confirmation that their application was received. i thought i was a patient person but this is testing me. it would just ease my mind just knowing that my application is where it is supposed to be.:anbd:

No word at all. I haven't received the confirmation email either. I wonder if they are extending the interview process? I checked my app online and it said status "applied", and it was still open. I would love to know if anyone has had contact with them.

so would i. it's very frustrating. when they extended the application period, i wondered if it was because they received too few applications. maybe they now have so many it is taking a while to sort through them. really though, i guess we can only wait (impatiently:d) and see what happens. we are truly at their mercy.

I have another post on here on the same topic. Seems that no one has been contacted or received a confirmation yet.

I haven't heard anything.. but I was skipped over during their last new grad internship in May 2009 as well though- I was told I didn't make the cut because I didn't work as a nurse tech in school, have a BSN, nor was I a previous LVN; apparently people were ranked on those criteria because of the large number of applicants... hopefully it is not as competitive this go around!

they extended the application period? i didn't know that. sounds to me like they had too few applicants or not enough "qualified" applicants to me.

did you graduate in may then? have you worked anywhere as a nurse since then? i ask because i have already graduated as well and am still working at the job i have had for years (not a nurse tech or lvn though).

Call 'em and ask. I applied for an internship as a new grad and then had to move, but they called me 2x after that. And since I've started working there as an "experienced" nurse, I still get their recruiters calling and emailing me with openings.

i have called a few times in the last couple of weeks but always have to leave a message. i then called human resources and was told that if i leave a message that they should return my call within the week. it's just frustrating. i want to work at hermann so bad and i just want to hear something....anything :scrying:

anybody have more information about internship who are accepted in january? how many people are hired to the internship? is it very competitive to get into intership like they are only hiring 60 people out of 300 applications? if applicants have previous experience as pca or lvn are there better chance of gettting hired?

after the application deadline passed, they later opened it again until sept 25. i am assuming they did not have enough applicants or at least not enough of the kind of applicants they were looking for. the number accepted will vary according to their need at the time. last january they had interns at the medical center location; i don't know how many but they hired at least 8 from my school that i am aware of. i heard that all interviews were cancelled though for the suburban locations. but that was last year and i have no idea what is going on for this year. i wish i did.

i got called for an interview with Children's...anybody else get a call? I guess that was my confirmation that my packet went through because I never got an email
