Im so nervous I go for my meeting with the BON tomorrow to get my license. I had to go through a moral character review and now this is the final step. The Investigator has been very nice and helpful to me. he called me today to wish me luck and to prepare me on some things to say. The one question that is stumping me is why do u deserve to get your license. I have an answer but I dont know if it is appropriate or not here it goes.
I feel that I deserve my license because I have worked hard and struggled to get where I am today. Although I made poor choices I chose to change my life and move in to a positive direction to make a better life for me and my brother. I also feel that everyone deserves a second chance and I know that if I am granted my license I would appreciate it more than anything else because this was not handed to me I didnt have the opportunity to just take my exam and be handed a license I had to prove and show that I was worthy of getting a second chance. I have dedicated and sacrificed so much for this and I just ask that you grant me the opportunity to make what I thought was a dream a reality.
This is truly how I feel an spoken from my heart. I dont know if this is good enough please give me some feedback on this :)

It sounds like you are very genuine and speaking from the heart. Make eye contact with the board when you are speaking and try imagining them in their underwear to help calm you down. You can do it, good luck tomorrow!

Just read your previous posts (to see why you need to meet with them). I wish you the best of luck. We all make mistakes, and you sound like you really have turned things around. I believe in being completley honest, and try to instill that in my daughter as well. I hope, for your sake, honesty is the best policy.
Keep us posted...

Good Luck tomorrow.
What state are you in? I had to go through a Moral Character review also and I live in NY. I never had to go meet the BON personally, and I just faxed them all the info they needed and dealt with the investigator over the telephone, which he was EXTREMELY nice!
I just graduated in May 05 and have been working since Sept. They would not even start the MC investigation until after I passed the Nclex-RN. I now work at a University teaching hospital.

Oh, SO MUCH good luck to you! I don't know your situation but you really seem to have things together. I hope everything goes well! Remember to take a deep breath, slow down, and speak your answer carefully. Make eye contact.
Above all, BELIEVE in what you're saying (and I really think you do!).
Again, best of luck to you!
