hi there maine1987, the school in which im about to take the iron program issued me their letter of acceptance even though i hav'nt received my loe yet. good thing with them is that rest assured ill have an available slot for the bridging program anytime that my loe comes out.
That's great!:) Just let us know if you got yours!:) God bless you:)
what he mean is instead of taking the bridging program, overseas nurses will just take a course in a university which will take longer than a bridging program (a year or more) but let us still hope for the best. besides, only two board members said that. let us hope (and pray) that they wont brainwash the other board members.
Yes jems, your loe took you more than a year but during that time ahpra still does not have its new iqnm regulations. Unlike us in which it was implemented last feb 2014 covering up to oct 2013. Thats why our evaluation is taking so long.
Yeah that's the thing. I will face that same stage once we've applied for it for my husband as well.. Goodluck to us :)
Hey nurses!:) It has been really a long wait. Got my second extension letter and it will end by October 23. For the people who has been asking about the bridging to be changed to conversion prog, I think it wouldn't be possible. The thing that they would like to implement is that only universities will be the one to offer the Bridging Program. I got this information from an Australian head of nursing and midwifery department in a prestigious Univ who just gave a briefing last week. I am sorry but I think we cannot mention any names here, but this is legit info that i have learned. Guys, more patience we'll soon get our LOEs. God bless everyone.:)
Hello. Did your registration officer send you the further extension?
Have you guys read the AHPRA website about IQNM processing? I just read it last week and it somehow cleared some issues. I think it was posted last July. So maybe, I am one of the late people who read it.
There are some points that needed to be highlighted:
1. Assessment was put on hold from Oct 2013 - Feb 2014. That's 4 months backlog, means 4 months delay. Oh well!
2. Panel of experts and national proessing team (NSW) only meet fortnightly. This may be the reason for the big delays. If they only meet twice a month then we are certain why these delays are taking longer. Imagine, presenting these teams with huge number of applicants and will carefully decide in a single applicant. How long will it take? I believe they can only make a decision to handful of applicants.
3. NSW team CURRENTLY makes the decision. I really don't get this. I think there are two teams. The panel of experts who decides according to AQF levels. And the NSW national processing team who makes another decision after the panel of experts forward a recommendation.
4. Their target goal is 4-6 weeks processing time. This made me laugh.
My concern is why they only meet every 2 weeks? They should consider that there are large number of applicants and I know that they know this themselves.
