@mark I think we have the same situation. my IELTS will expire soon but i have already my LOE and hopefully i will enroll at IHNA. but i decided to take IELTS again so that i will be at peace and confident that all my requirements are up to date. we never know, when they will be changing their policies. if you dont have expired documents, you will always be safe and stress free..
Hi @patringrn,I am having the same problem. Which state did you apply for LOE? Mine is in Victoria, and they emailed me that they dont give extensions. My LOE will expire on March 30, 2013 but my offer from the course is Feb 18, 2013. I am really confused right now and I dont know what to do. How is your status now??I called ahpra a while ago and was told that its ok as long as the bridging program starts before the eligibility expires.. I have already e-mailed them and was told that they could not grant me the extension. that's why I gave them a call. can anybody confirm this? that its ok as long as the BP starts before the eligibility expires..Thank you!

I am having a HUGE problem right now.. I just need a 10 day extension on my eligibility and I have just e-mailed my case officer (again) about this... I was not granted extensions during my previous e-mails. I will have to wait for her reply again which I'm sure is going to be the same as the previous. I do not want to go there, do the BP, spend the money and not be considered for registration at the end.
to some I have talked to, they say that it's okay since the BP started while the LOE is still valid. I have called AHPRA too and that's what the person on the other line said.. that it's okay. I gave them another call and I guess its a different person that I have talked to. He said that I may or may not be considered for registration in the end because of the expired LOE. If i were you, please re-apply your AHPRA now.. just to be sure..
I am now praying that my e-mail for an extension will be granted. :)

My case officer told me that if an applicant was able to enroll before the letter expires, that would be fine. Once you get into the school, the letter doesn't matter anymore since at the end of the course, it would be the school's letter to AHPRA that would count.

This is what my case officer told me:If you are able to apply to the College before your letter expires there will be no need to obtain a second letter or a second IELTS.

A bridging school that takes on a student without a valid IELTS is taking on a risk, if negligence happened because of poor communication with a student with an out of date IELTS, the hospital or nursing home, could on paper sue that bridging school for millions.
