Hi, Just wondering if anyone has heard anything regarding acceptance?
i would like to take the time to urge all of you to voice your concerns regarding the proposed budget cuts. the proposals will be taken to legislation in a few weeks and a decision will be made in april. if these cuts go through they will take effect as soon as july 1, 2010! those currently in programs that may be cut will not be able to finish!
i am praying that the proposals will not go through as education cuts especially in such specialized fields will negatively impact our futures, our loved ones' futures and so many other things! please take the time to contact our state officials in an effort to voice our disapproval with proposed cuts. below are links to online petitions (one specific to sonat) as well as link to state officials' information.

I heard that the if/when the Athens campus closes, they can't even offer any of those students a spot in augusta. But apparently the seniors would be able to finish the program. It's kind of confusing because I don't think even they know what's going to happen yet or how they'll handle it. I feel so bad for those students though, and relieved at the same time that I picked Augusta!

email dated the 12th:
we just received an update regarding the proposed budget cuts...and this time it's good news! dr. barry goldstein, senior vice president for academic affairs and provost, received notice from dr. erroll davis, chancellor for the board of regents, that we will not eliminate any academic programs, including the athens and columbus campuses, next year. I was looking at the schedule for the summer. What a kooky semester. It seems like every day is a different time, with some of the classes even having conflicting schedules. Since I have experience with the online registration process, and I have yet to have a semester without a problem, needless to say I'm worried about a smooth registration.

Same here...I really hope they keep the program at the Athens campus for all the students who worked so hard to get in! Sounds like everyone got some good apartment advice. There are lots of nice areas to live in Augusta. I've been here about five years and find it a safe, enjoyable place to live! You'll have to let us know if you get the dorm you were hoping for:)
