  1. I think you saw this based on your post description: Nursing - Admission Statistics Anyways, I got a 91 on my Teas (TEAS); 3.9 transfer GPA (which includes GSU institutional credit).
  2. Thanks, I ended up ordering both books off chegg.com (doesn't include codes/ebook--which I think is just the interactive version of the book-- $89 for both after ship/tax). Most of the books (patho, fundamentals text) that I have received from that rental site are in top shape w/cd. As far as the lab/clinical schedule is concerned, it would be weird for them to just change their system (way of doing labs/clinicals from previous semesters. Though, anything is possible :/
  3. Thanks izzycatswim---if you don't mind me asking, what do the Nurs 2040* (1 hr)/Conceptual Foundations of Nursing & Trends and Nurs 2080* (3 hrs)/Basic Concepts of Nursing Care entail. I know the former class requires the APA manual, so does that mean we will be writing several research papers? Thanks
  4. Right now, Thursday; might switch to friday if something opens (haven't decided yet). If anyone has gotten their books already, I have a few questions. Is this the correct version of the health assesment book: Amazon.com: Health Assessment for Nursing Practice (9780323053228): Susan F. Wilson RN PhD CS FNP, Jean Foret Giddens RN PhD APRN BC: Books It seems as though that the nursing textbook list for fall + our instructor's spring syllabus has a totally different edition listed (just making sure). Also, is this the correct edition for the dosages class: Amazon.com: Dosage Calculations (9781418080471): Gloria D. Pickar, Amy P. Abernethy: Books Thanks guys!
  5. Tchic, I think we only wear uniforms on lab/clinical day because I received an email from our N2160 instructor, Nancy DiFalco: "The remaining two attachments contain information regarding the purchase of the official GSU school of nursing uniform. These documents have already been made available to you from Angela Corley. I have included them in case you missed the prior message. "You are required to purchase at least one uniform top and one uniform bottom to wear in lab and in clinical. In this course, you will be in lab or clinical only one day per week. You will need other items such as a watch, shoes, stethoscope, and lab coat, but you are not required to purchase them from this supplier. If you have any questions regarding the fit or sizing of the uniform, please contact the supplier. Please read the "Uniform policy" in your School of Nursing Handbook for additional information."
  6. Thanks bellefemme & BxNy
  7. Where are you all getting your books from? I'm thinking about using chegg for a majority of the non-bundles. Does anyone know why patho requires 2 textbookss (one Pathophysiology by Burns and one essentials; seems like a bit of a waste ).
  8. Does anyone know what is up with the ATI payments...THey've seemed to changed the codes on us. I paid using code: Semester: SEM-01-201008startACE but now there is a new code out for fall ace students. *Note, I just checked the order history on the ATI site and it is blank (not sure if the payment was accepted but I do have a confirmation letter).
  9. I ended up calling the school, and I was told that you can in fact mail in all the forms (good for me as the drive is quite long).
  10. Has anyone mailed in their health forms, student agreements , documentation and fees (I am trying to avoid a drive but i cannot find an address on the letter that has multicolored leaves on it)? Also, I assume that I should hold off on sending in the ERI check? Thanks for the help
  11. athens campus: email dated the 12th: we just received an update regarding the proposed budget cuts...and this time it's good news! dr. barry goldstein, senior vice president for academic affairs and provost, received notice from dr. erroll davis, chancellor for the board of regents, that we will not eliminate any academic programs, including the athens and columbus campuses, next year. (source:my-inbox and http://www.crnabiz.com/site/)
  12. dated the 12th: good evening bsn athens fall 2010 newly admitted students (class of 2012), we just received an update regarding the proposed budget cuts...and this time it's good news! dr. barry goldstein, senior vice president for academic affairs and provost, received notice from dr. erroll davis, chancellor for the board of regents, that we will not eliminate any academic programs, including the athens and columbus campuses, next year. although we have and will face some difficult decisions regarding the budget, this is a wonderful outcome for our school and most importantly, for our new in-coming students. i am certain that this decision was due, in large part, by unified efforts to educate our elected officials about the importance of our programs and our belief in the nobility of the nursing profession. thanks also, to many of you who remained the voice of reason and stood firm in your quest to obtain an education from the medical college of georgia. i am pleased that we can end this week on a high note and focus on this next phase of your exciting educational career. your time here will be among the most meaningful experience of your life, and we will be here to support you along the way. thank you for choosing mcg school of nursing!
