Hi, Just wondering if anyone has heard anything regarding acceptance?

Specializes in Telemetry.

Congratulations to everyone that got accepted!! You guys are lucky...they just changed the uniforms~ no more white pants!

Just heard from a friend who is doing her clinical at MCG, and she said that this year they are only accepting 50 students instead of the usual 80. That might be a reason for the hold up.

Is anyone applying to live on campus? I did. I wonder when they will let me know if I got the residence hall I wanted... hmmm!

no more white pants!!! that's awesome! i was dreading the white. do you know what color they're going to be now?

also, how are the steven's creek apartments? the pictures look nice, but how is the neighborhood, location to the school, etc.?

The drive from there is not bad, about 15 minutes. The location is good, very safe.

goldie, do you have any suggestions that are closer to the school that a lot of students live in?

There are several different areas, depending on what you want. Enterprise Mill is an old mill that has loft apartments VERY close to campus and downtown nightlife and can go over the bridge to North Augusta for shopping. Forest Hills Racquet Club is in the "Hill" section. Go about 5 miles down Walton Way to campus, just around the corner from Target and several stores and movie theaters. Older, but popular with college and young professionals. Towneclub are very near Surrey Center(upscale shopping) which has a couple of good places to eat, Surrey Tavern where lots of college students will gather (especially students that grew up in Augusta and are back visiting). These are also older, but spacious. Be careful of the downtown and MCG area, not always the safest place to live. Most things in Hill area and Summerville (also part of hill area) are older, but very convenient to school. West Augusta is nice and newer. North Augusta is just across the bridge and very close to school and downtown bars (that's about all downtown has). I would visit before signing a lease. The historic homes in Summerville sometimes have cottages behind them. You may want to wait until the medical students are graduating and leaving to rent these, they usually advertise about a month before leaving. Check craigslist.

Uniforms are royal blue tops and bottoms - I think you can also wear all white.

I know a lot of my classmates live off Alexander drive which is right off Washington rd. There are 2 gated apt complexes with nice amenities. I believe they are called century Glenn or something like that. It's about a 10 minute drive to school and they are really nice. It is a good location! I am from Augusta and also live off Washington rd.

Yes, I forgot about Alexander Drive. It is a good location and the apartments are pretty new. That is Richmond County in West Augusta. Easy to MCG and good variety of grocery stores near and a Fresh Market.

lmich, I'm still waiting to hear back. Good luck to you!

same here! my friend's status changed yesterday. I called before and they said they would have all letters sent out by the 28th, then I called last week and they said that they would have them sent out shortly after the 28th....this waiting is so frustrating! Did you pick the Athens Campus? or both?

No, I picked the Augusta campus only. I really hope we hear some good news- soon!
