Im rooting for you !! I am only 24 but I wished I knew I was 100% about nursing when I first started college, it would've saved me a lot of time LOL. But im so excited now that this is the route for me and im so eager. I really thought the application was going to be open yesterday I couldn't sleep the whole weekend ?

@HappyGirl123 yeah - definitely use your age to your advantage! I work with young people - my entire job is training young people to be global health leaders - I think our voices are so important, and we bring a unique perspective.

Not a bad thing at all! And super jealous of all the money savvvved!

@queen3lizabeth I am with you! I am 24, turning 25 in September and wish I would've known about nursing and just pursued my BSN in nursing. I feel like I would've saved so much time, money, and would've already been working!

But hey, we have lived and learned hahaha and we are still young!

@Gmilitar your cohort starts this June right?!?! Are you nervous, excited - both?

@queen3lizabeth WOW! I'm so happy that you've found nursing! You seem to be very passionate. We need nurses now more than ever and its awesome to see your dedication!

This is super random but I honestly do not know what to do...I am still trying to fix up my resume but I am having an issue...I have a scholarly article that I am currently working on getting published but like how am I suppose to put that on a resume? It has not been published yet, and there is a chance it will get denied publication. Should I just not put it on the resume at all? Or say "publishing pending" I have nooooo clue.

@cnmhopeful95 LOL WOW! thanks for helping me see a different perspective and yes I am so grateful about the money I saved?

@KAS212 I would definitely add it! When are you submitting - and how far along in the publication process are you

If you aren't far - I would still list it, and write publication pending!

you can always update them throughout the whole application process. they don’t tell you the admission decision until feb of next year

I am feeling so overwhelmed right now. I need to complete my statement of purpose for GW's MPH Program (figured I would apply, and see if I choose to pursue that before nursing) and I CANNOT WRITE ANYTHING.

"Hi. I like people, dogs...health is important to me, choose me. thank you."

yup. we started yesterday. I was excited and nervous but not anymore. LOL now it’s just trying to get familiar with this whole online learning process while, at the same time, trying to assimilate. you all have more than enough time LOL to fill out the application and submit. the worst part is just waiting

I’ll say take the application process one day at a time and don’t rush it. I was on the same boat, I think I was one of the first one who submitted my application and, honestly, I don’t think it really mattered. even if you submit a month after the application opens.. just as long as you don’t wait on late the very last minute. everyone receives their admission at the same time.

I would focus more on your timing with taking the prereqs. if you plan to take your last prereqs until next Spring, make sure it doesn’t overlap with the program. I personally would recommend completing all the prereqs in the fall.

@Gmilitar do you think having an advanced degree before applying works in the favor of the applicant? LOL I am stuck on if I should add more debt - or just apply without an MPH etc.

And YAY for officially starting! I can't imagine the online start, hopefully everything smooths itself out and we can get SARS-CoV-2 under control.
