Hey ! I know im super early to make this thread for the MDE program at Columbia for the 2021 start year ? but I was wondering if there are any future nurses out there as eager as me to get started !!

So apparently the application should be open either this Friday or sometime next week ?

IDK why but I think they were trying to give people more information before they launch the application. They also mentioned they are trying to do an open house on Saturday online where they go more in depth on the programs with more faculty involved. Ohhh & they mentioned Friday they wanna do a “soft launch” for the application where they don’t really email everyone that the application is open but it might be. Then during next week they wanna give a big email out to everyone that it’s officially open. So just look out on Friday and see if the application is available ??‍♀️

Interesting ? I guess I should attend the open house. But I don't understand why they want to do a soft launch for the app... that seems odd to me?

Yeah it does. It doesn’t make sense to me honestly. They probably have a lot of people asking them when the application will be available so they don’t know what to tell people ??‍♀️ I might attend that open house once they send out an email about it. Im always asking them when the application will be available ?

I continue to find my self looking at their website 80+ times a day. Have any of you ladies received the email about open house yet?

Don't worry I check at least 4 times a day! I had written my personal statement a few weeks ago so I'm just trying to get different people to review it and begin rewriting ? But I have not received a single email from them!

@angrenteria10 How did you get the personal statement prompt LOL? Care to share? I know that they mentioned it in the info session I attended, but she cut out and I did not hear what it was. She said we can email to get it, and I did but I was told the prompt was not ready yet?

I mean I've done a deep dive throughout different blogs, posts, and Youtube videos and they were all roughly the same. So I based my personal statement roughly on that! They said it was possible it would change across the years but they seemed pretty similar to me!

Assess your skills and how they will aid in your transition to becoming a Columbia Nursing Student. Additionally, discuss your understanding of your intended specialty and how prepared you are to pursue this role.

I'm prepared for it be a different prompt but ehh all personal statement prompts are roughly the same to me
