@KAS212 I WENT TO ASU. I still work with ASU on global internships! And I am with you - ASU is offering MIC 205 and 206 online in session b though! That is what I am looking at!

And what other nursing programs are you all looking at that are similar to this?

@CNMhopeful You should totally get that course done when they have it, if you can! That is so cool that you went to ASU(: Such a small world! Doing a Global internship would have been sooooooo amazing to do. I stayed in state):

@KAS212 Such a small world! Aw look at us!

ASU is the best though - I contemplated their MSN Entry to Clinical Nursing Program - but because of the work I want to do, I think some of these other schools offer me a better chance of networking and making it? And the DNP into Midwifery is the route I want to go - that's why I am sooooo drawn to Columbia.

I haven't found other programs offering quite the same thing. Have you all found any programs that compare?

@cnmhopeful95 EXACTLY! I am applying to ASU MSN entry as well but its only a safety net really. I do love ASU but their masters program is a whole 20 months and after graduation all you are is a registered nurse...not an advanced practice nurse. I am hoping to at LEAST get into the MDE at Columbia, hopefully their DNP.

I am applying to quiet a few schools but Columbia is my number one hands down. They all offer the same thing for adult gerontology but Columbia just has more to offer in my opinion

I love that Columbia has the DNP to pediatrics program! It also has a lot to offer which is really appealing! But yeah I plan on applying to other programs as well but I'm not too sure which I want to apply to!

@angrenteria10 yeah I am with you - I don't know where else to apply. I need to make my spreadsheets like I did for PA schools when I originally wanted to go that route haha!

@KAS212 aw man - we are the same hahahaaha yeah I think it is still worth applying to - ASU's facilities for nursing are FANTASTIC. I think in the years to come they will be more competitive tbh

Michael Crow knows what he is doing with ASU's reputation for sure

Portage learning is a site that is accredited by Geneva College. You just pay for whatever course you need to take and you literally work at your own pace. And typically takes about two weeks to finish if you have a lot of time. It's alternative if you do not want to retake courses at community colleges or university. Columbia actually recommended that site to me ! and it is very convenient ?

I cant really go out of state right now for schools so Columbia is my only top choice. Pace university would be my second option if Columbia doesn't work out. *Crossing my fingers*

I'm kind of worried about my age playing a factor in my application. I'm currently 19, and I am going to graduate next Spring since I've had college credits transferred from my high school. I graduated high school in 2019 LOL. I hope they don't think I'm not mature enough or anything. I mean I will graduate with my bachelors degree next Spring and will have all the prereqs done and I think my application will stand out since I am all about public health and have a lot of experience. My GPA is currently 3.9 and I'm excited to finish the rest of my science prereqs since bio is my strong suit.

@HappyGirl123

That is honestly so great ! I'm sure they won't think you are not mature. They will see your educational history of course through transcripts and see how great you are. That's pretty cool because you will be in the field early ? As long as in your essays you show your passion for nursing they will def take you !

@HappyGirl123 I would not worry about the maturity to much. Besides you will be 20 or 21 by the time you apply anyways? That is great you are working on this so early. I envy you! I wish I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do at 19, would have saved me so much time and money. I am rooting for you girl!

@queen3lizabeth @Gmilitar @KAS212 Thanks for the support! I took/transferred 60 college credits from my high school and transferred them all, and yes I was supposed to be considered a freshman but because of the credits I was technically a junior from fall 2019. I'm planning on submitting my application mid-September so I will still be 19 but I will be 20 by the time the program starts next year! I have always been passionate about nursing and I hope it comes across in my essays!

Basically my high school was an early college
