Hey ! I know im super early to make this thread for the MDE program at Columbia for the 2021 start year ? but I was wondering if there are any future nurses out there as eager as me to get started !!

Ugh that's such a bummer. I heard that the first open house day would be Jan 5, I wonder if they'll change that? Happy holidays to all!

My friend at columbia told me she saw an email about having the first virtual open house in the beginning on January, but who knows if that's the case. We didn't get any email about it so don't worry you're not missing anything!

Hey! I just got this email last night at like 8 pm. I guess these emails are still going out. I totally forgot that they were sending an email confirming the handoff of the application, so I looked back at my inbox and realized that I also never got one of these emails - until last night. To add: I didn't have any pending documents or pre-reqs to take or update my application. I hope this eases some stress! ?

Also this is just me being paranoid I've missed something but no one has gotten an email yet about a decision timeline, right?

I also just got this email at 8 PM last night! I wonder when we will receive an email with the timeline of decisions. I’m thinking it will be after New Years.

The timeline email hasn’t gone out yet. Hopefully this week or before the year ends ?

I honestly believe they will be reviewing in rounds. So if you didn’t get the “passed initial review” email then it probably means you’ll get it during the second or third rounds ! Due to the Influx of applications they probably just wanna break all applications into different pieces to make it easier on them. So for those who did not get the email yet, I wouldn’t worry. You’ll get one soon ! Most likely after the first rounds go out

I havent gotten anything, and I agree LOL the paranoia is creeping haha. But it does make sense as @Elizabethg mentioned that if they are reviewing the apps in rounds, a batch of us may be getting emails at once, but they probably won't be making and giving us decisions for a while, especially if people are still submitting grades and pre reqs.

Probably! Im sure they will be off for the holiday and next week is a short week. Almost crunch time!

My guess is that they will only send out the timeline after everyone gets the "your app has passed the initial review" email.

Does anyone remember how large the cohort that is accepted is each year?

It is a cohort of 200 students I believe
