Hey ! I know im super early to make this thread for the MDE program at Columbia for the 2021 start year ? but I was wondering if there are any future nurses out there as eager as me to get started !!
@FutureNP90 Did you also notice when acceptance letters went out for last year’s cohort? I thought we were supposed to find out before Christmas, but I guess I’m wrong!

End of January, but they're doing it in waves this year so it's gonna be different. I was hoping we'd at least get an update on timeline before Christmas and am def a little disappointed we didn't hear anything ?

Hey! I agree with @millie2827 - due to the influx in applicant this year they mentioned they were going to send decisions in rounds as opposed to at once. But to answer your question, it was the end of January when someone first posted their acceptance to Columbia and it trickled into February. Someone from last year mentioned that they were on the waitlist and they were told they would find out about waitlist results by March 16.
Also @JRoseCLA mentioned that they communicated with admissions recently and they told them that they may not be sending out this decision letters until after the holiday/ New Year (correctly me if Im wrong). Ill add that I just (a few days ago) got the email that mentioned that my application was complete and being sent to Faculty - so they are definitely still processing the applications.
But because of the influx in applicants, timeline, and the decisions being sent in rounds, Im not sure if we can wholly compare this cohort process to last years. That still isn't stopping me from obsessing and stressing haha.
Hope everyone is having a great holiday!
How is everyone staying sane during this application process? I know I won't find out my admission decisions for at least a month or two for most schools but I still find myself constantly checking my email for updates as if they'll magically appear LOL. Ugh the anxiety and stress is real - I hope you are all doing OK!
@nutritionandnursing I’ve been trying to avoid checking, especially now that I know programs won’t be contacting me until after the New Year. I’ve also been trying to fill my time with other things during this time - running, reading and connecting with family, even if virtually. Best wishes!
Hello everyone!
Long and fun thread! Waiting here for the acceptance letter in whatever round they choose. So far I've gotten all emails mentioned before. I submitted mine back on October 1st. I applied for the DNP Pysch, once accepted you have 3 months to either choose the DNP or stay in the MDE program.
@nutritionandnursing every time I get an email from Columbia wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving or so my heart stops so... Guess we have to wait until the end of January.

Yes, I have Micro in the Spring semester for Columbia and decided to take Lifespan to meet NYU pre-reqs also since their program starts in September.

well, Ill (reluctantly) admit that I recently stalked the last cohorts (Fall 2020) allnurses forum LOL ?
Without going back to the forum and checking, I think that last year they invited about 250ish to the Admitted Students Day(?) But that the conversation quickly shifted to Covid-19 and the issues they were going through after that, so I don't think they mentioned how big the class ended up being (remembering that not everyone ends up accepting the admittance and waitlist).
I think it has been confirmed that its a cohort of 200 students that is accepted
