MDE Columbia University 2021

Hey ! I know im super early to make this thread for the MDE program at Columbia for the 2021 start year ? but I was wondering if there are any future nurses out there as eager as me to get started !!

I was hoping today being the 15th (the two-month mark from application submission) we would hear back with a timeline that maybe first waves will be announced next week and second waves end of January. This is just what I would be guessing, but who knows! 

Just curious, what do you guys anticipate will be happening with all of this in the unknown? ?

I actually thought the same thing. I feel that we may hear back by the end of this week or next week, right before Christmas. I hope they don’t send off rejection letters a day or so before Christmas because that would just be messed up ?. But at this point it should be any day ! My nerves are up the wall right now

Admissions told me they are expecting to send out the first rounds of decisions before Christmas!

Yes ! It took them some time to respond to me though but im glad they did !

Did they happen to mention anything about sending a timeline before sending admissions notification?

Does anyone else have pending prerequisites? I still have one pending! It should be finished soon but I'm worried if they're releasing decisions now that it'll be too late.

I wouldn’t worry about one pending prerequisite. Once that grade is in upload it asap with either a grade report or unofficial transcript since Fall grades are crucial. They haven’t even sent out a timeline email which they should’ve done first..so since we didn’t get a general mass email as yet I wouldn’t worry !

I do! We are allowed to have pre-req courses pending while we submit our applications. I know in the past, someone was accepted with 2 pre-req courses pending. Just make sure to update your transcript as soon as you receive your grades. Good luck!

I have 3 pending! Microbio, nutrition, and anatomy. I will have 2 of them done this week and am still waiting for anatomy

Don’t want to alarm anyone but the admissions said they ain’t sure if the first round will be ready before the holidays.

I guess we just need to patient and see what the mass communication email says.

Did you reach out as well and ask them? Just asking because we just a few posts ago someone said before the Christmas holiday. 

I hope everyone is staying healthy, safe, and warm! Especially with the snow ?
