I literally just submitted my application. I was waiting to have a random flashback of a time working at the hospital, and a memory finally came up worth writing about just 45 minutes ago! GEEZ! I am thinking of all of you and am sending everyone positive vibes. You guys are amazing(:

So I did a little research about the recently graduated cohort. I added some of them on LinkedIn, about 80% had some type of volunteer/research experience on their resume. I would suggest highlighting this in your resume. Also, I highly recommend creating a LinkedIn if you don't have one. CUSON is very active on that platform.
Good luck everyone! I hope we all get to be classmates together.
thank you for sharing this! I'm fairly active on LinkedIn and have added them I also appreciate you sharing the research that you did into the resume of their recent graduates. It gives me some reassurance that I highlighted both those things on my resume.
I hope we all get to be classmates too! ❤️

ugh that makes me so nervous because I haven't really done research, just some volunteer experience, but I have a health care background, so hopefully that saves me ? these next few months are going to be nerve wrackinggg

I feel you. I think if you have medical experience and volunteer experience it makes you a well-rounded applicant.
Hello Everyone! Long time thread lurker, but figured I'd join in now that I've submitted.
Does anyone have any experience with requesting an expedited admissions decision? I am trying to become a VA nurse and I am also in the national guard as a non-medical soldier. There are scholarships on the VA side and the chance to switch over to medical corps but I need an admissions letter in hand to get both processes started. Do you all think it is advisable to ask under these circumstances? If there is a possibility it would hurt my chances I would opt to wait until the regular deadline.

Hi and welcome! ❤️ I don't have experience with that request but I can speak on the admission decision process as I applied last year. Columbia was pretty set on telling us we'd be hearing back in the first 2 weeks of February but we ended up hearing on January 29th. This may change for this year's application cycle as there seems to be an influx of more applications. As is they tend to send out decisions earlier than they say they will. When do you need the decision by? It's always best to email them, I don't think it will hurt. They are really helpful and friendly.

Hi! Do you mind sharing what kind of the scholarship available at the VA? Is it applicable to other branches? Thanks!
