Hi guys!
I was hoping to get to know some of the people that will be applying to the Spring 12 nursing program.
I've been following the MDC Fall 2011 =) thread and I'm super excited for them, but now I'm even more excited since this time it's finally me who is applying to the nursing program.
So...who else is applying???? :redbeathe
Jael11 WELCOME to the thread and CONGRATS!!!
AlexLL what an AWESOME birthday gift!!!! HAPPY Birthday and CONGRATS!!!!
Dpargas01 - You got into accelerated?!?! Congrats!!! Me too!! There aren't many accelerated applicants on here so I'm excited to see that you joined us.
Blissberry - CONGRATS!!!!! have you decided what you are going to choose? no pressure but accelerated is the way to go! (lol) It's awesome to hear that you got into UM with scholarship and everything! WOW that is amazing! But it is SO true that you need to pursue your passion. One of the best things about my acceptance is being able to resign from my job. I am a Biology and Anatomy teacher at a high school in Broward and after working as a teacher for a few years, and realizing how much of your life is molded around your job, I am determined to do nursing! Teaching really isn't my love, but nursing... it really is! I'm sooooooo EXCITED!!! pick accelerated! pick accelerated! lolz
Is God good or what....today is my birthday and what better gift than this....I'm in complete shock right now. I can't wait to meet everyone from here Spring 2012 that sounds great. God bless everyone and remember your the future and you need to do everything possible to help change this world.
Alex which are u gonna pick????
First of all Congrats to all of whom were accepted to MDC for Spring 2012! I am new to this thread but a regular reader of this forum. I have been scouring the forum in search of info regarding MDC transitional bridge for both part-time and full-time and have not been able to find the desired info.
My question is whether or not any of you are familiar with the LPN - RN Bridge schedules? Each time I speak with someone from advisement I'm given a different response (one would think that an adviser should be privy to this information). I too was accepted for both the LPN to RN bridge for full-time (w/ face to face or online option) and part-time. I work full-time Mon-Fri. From 7a -3:30p (can't afford to quit) I have no idea as to which option to select because I can't seem to get a straight answer about the class schedules from the advisement.
What's a regular schedule for the bridge full and part time? What time and day(s) would I be required to attend classes, labs, and clinicals. Any info provided would be much appreciated.

RNTAI!!!!
Woooo! Biology and anatomy teacher! I bet you are gonna rock in the accelerated. I'm looking up classes and rough drafting my schedule. You know, it isn't that bad. Some classes (like fundies skill lab) only run for a short period and then others start. I looked up some professors too. Most of them are TBA on the schedule, so it is kind of a blind game.
I also took a peek at a seq 1 and 2 of generic. Those people have one class a day and should be pretty relaxed.
I'm still debating on which track to pick. All this is due to the south florida workforce scholrship. If on Monday I find out that they pay for the accelerated - i'm in!
Kudos to all my accelerated peeps!!!!!
WELCOME to the thread AnaB333!! There are only a few accelerated ppl on here so we're excited to see you!
yisy4u How did you get your background screening done so quickly? The only appointment date that works for me is the day OF orientation because I can't get time off work. I have an important question for you though. I noticed when I went to make my background screening appointment that they asked if you were a citizen. Do they ask you for any kind of proof of citizenship or residency or anything? I am a bit worried because I lost my passport and I never applied for my certificate of citizenship so I have no proof of citizenship at the moment. I applied to get my certificate of citizenship, but it may not come until late December to January. Because of this I can't even get financial aid at the moment! Did you have to submit any residency or citizenship documentation?
Blissberry, I don't mean to burst your bubble, but i really do not think the accelerated students are eligible for that scholarship. I do not know for sure of course, but that is what I have heard. I'm so sad if you're not going to take the accelerated route! But by all means, I completely understand why!
