MDC Nursing Spring 2019

Updated:   Published

To anyone out there....

I had planned to apply for Fall 2018 but I will be finishing my pre reqs on May 1,2018. The exact deadline to apply for Fall. Is anyone in a similar situation? Do you think I should apply anyways?

It was crowded that day and I was worried I wouldn't be able to apply if it got late. Which program did you apply to?

I applied for both generic full time and accelerated. I also was worried I would not be able to apply and arrived early then rushed after the exam. I erroneously believed the place would be a mad house.

I am a little concerned that they have not processed my degree transcripts but will follow up tomorrow.

I don't see a lot of people in this forum compare to MDC fall2018 thread.

Do you guys know if there is another MDC sprint 2019 Thread?

Thanks for sharing when you applied and when you received an answer. I am not sure it is as easy as having over 80 composite score because I noticed most acceptances that posted on the forums are 84 and above. I would imagine that the lower composites scores get in the later rounds but it may be limited by the class numbers. I hope your completely right for our sake but I am a little nervous with a 83 HESI and 4.0 GPA.

On the schools, you will be better served with MDC in the long run. You will have the RN before those starting FIU or NOVA and will have an opportunity to complete your BSN at some great schools online and employers often pay for the classes. I think MDC is the smarter choice. My uncle went to UM and owes $60k while he saw MDC grads with an ASN get the same job as the ones he would obtain.

I started one but nobody joined.

My exemption was processed and approved the same day, but it I did it during the summer(June) and I physically went there and politely asked and got lucky. I'm pretty sure they know, because the advisor will add that info in your application packet. But a classmate of mine apply around that time too, so you have to be patient because they're flooded with exemption requests at this time.

Transcripts take a long time. I called every single day until they processed mine. Took about 10 days. The squeaky wheel gets the oil ;)

Miami Dade College Nursing Spring 2019

Hello! My name is Nic. I applied for MDC Generic Full Time. 3.8 Science GPA and 94.5 on HESI. I hope we all get in and any tips or information I get I will post here, hope you all do the same. Look forward to hopefully getting in and meeting some of you.

Hi Nic,

Welcome to the forum!

You a have very competitive scores

@Shireenk7 Let us know how that Baptist Scholars goes. There's not much info posted on it. I'd love to hear more about the process as a whole. Rooting that you get it!

@Nic. Welcome! Nice scores. That will surely get you accepted. Which program did you apply to?

I applied for the Generic full-time. I also applied at Broward College for a plan B. I looked into Nova but it seems so pricey, and even with the Baptist Scholars you have to pay the taxes back on the tuition which is expensive!
