To anyone out there....
I had planned to apply for Fall 2018 but I will be finishing my pre reqs on May 1,2018. The exact deadline to apply for Fall. Is anyone in a similar situation? Do you think I should apply anyways?

right after I finish my ASN I will continue with the bachelor.
Then 2 more years I will apply for CRNA or Pediatric Nurse practitioner.
Thats similar to my plan. Seems long and hard at my age but I know I can do it. Completely changing careers is a scary thing but so worth the risk.
Btw, I'm Shireen. I taught for 12 years and for the past 6 years I've been a curriculum coach. Even though I enjoy it, it was never my passion. Curcumstances led me there and I'm ready to follow my dream.
Shireen;
Nice to e-meeting you!
I am Leonardo from Venezuela, I came to the US 7 years ago. Since then, I have been working in the restaurant business and cruise line business, those are great field but I honestly don't feel the passion... the same as you, situation led me to study Business when I was younger.
I am on my mid 30s and it is hard to start all over again but not impossible. Age is a number, it does not determine the way you feel to do things.
I always wanted to be a professional care provider... and nursing is a great path to do it.
I took the HESI exam on the 28th and it was like 74%. I actually only saw like 3 other people finish and apply. That said I finished in about 2 hours and only spent like an hour and some change after to apply. The receptionist at admission says only a handful come down to apply after the test. Not sure how accurate that may be but I have heard something similar before. As I mentioned in another post, I personally know three class mates that were accepted in generic with a composite score of a low to mid 80 score for this past fall and I was under the impression it was the most competitive. I also know some class mates with high gpa or scores and did not want to attend MDC. The prefer NOVA or FIU. My own uncle who inspired me to do nursing had a 4.0 with an 85 HESI score but declined MDC and went to UM. So I think qualified candidates have options and MDC is not always their top options. Personally, I wil pay out of pocket and MDC is the cheapest bet.

Did you take the test in the morning or the afternoon? I took it in the afternoon on the 28th for the first time. It took me 3+ hours and even though the testing room was full, I didn't see anyone else apply. However, my testing time average was 72%.
I only applied to MDC as well. Other schools are extremely expensive and in the end we all take the same test. I need to get a scholarship to be able to afford this. As hard as it will be, I'm confident everything will work out in the end.

I see. The day I took it the average was 72% as well. From what I see, lower 70s seems to be the average.
