MDC Nursing Spring 2019

To anyone out there....

I had planned to apply for Fall 2018 but I will be finishing my pre reqs on May 1,2018. The exact deadline to apply for Fall. Is anyone in a similar situation? Do you think I should apply anyways?

Hi! I'm currently on my first semester I applied back in April and we got our acceptance emails July 9 or 10 I can't remember now. If you get accepted you will get an email with a specific date by which you will need to complete background checks drug test medical exams and vaccinations and you will need to have it ready by registration day. You will not be allowed to register yourself you have to be in school to be registered by a nursing school faculty member. You will have an orientation too where they will "explain" rules and that kind of stuff. Good luck to everyone

Congrats on getting in!! How do you like it so far? Any tips or piece of advice for us once we get accepted?

@RNhopeful18 @Melissah416 I applied for the generic full time. I'm trying to patiently wait but I can't help it so I count down the days or weeks. I'm trying to distract myself.

Lol just trying to keep myself as busy as possible!! Who else applied for bridge haven't seen to many on here ? Did anyone apply to other schools ?

@Shireenk7 I just need a yes or a no right now lol. If I was taking classes this fall maybe it would help me distract myself but I'm done with all my classes. Being a full-time mom is not distracting enough.

LOL exactly how I feel!!! I feel so weird not having to study or do homework. Believe me I'm a mom of 5 and I'm always busy but I keep feeling like I'm missing something lol. Weird me!!

@Shireenk7 lol the struggle.

I am gearing towards the generic full time as I heard mixed reviews about the AO and I do not want to fail. Are you all planning in continuing to the BSN after in MDC?

Yes absolutely! Part of the baptist scholars agreement is completing the BSN within 3 years through MDC.

Awesome, me too. Do you know anyone that has done the Baptist scholar? I am very interested in applying and I have all the requirements.

Their first cohort was last spring so they are still in progress. I met a few of them at the hospital while I was their with my mom. They really love the program but they all said it's very rigorous.

I was just told by advisement that the first set of acceptance emails will go out the week of October 1!!

@Shireenk7 from what I have heard & seen acceptance letters usually go out by Mid October. Maybe things have changed.
