MDC Nursing spring 2014

Published

So I'm starting the post for Spring 2014. I'm currently waiting for my acceptance letter for fall term but just in case applying for spring is my back up plan.

So my GPA is 3.0 and my teas is 72 giving me a score around 73.

Since I didn't get a first round email for fall I'm thinking of retaking my teas test so if anyone is willing to study with me please let me know. Good luck to everyone applying for spring!!

Can someone please provide a link to this DCF letter. I didn't see anything about that.

@Doingit yes that's what it seems we need to do. I had paid my $60 and done my appointment for Tuesday for my fingerprints. I went got that done and was told nothing about DCF letter. I saw, after someone on here pointed it out, that it also said we need a CDF letter. So I had to go online, pay another $40 and made my appointment for this Friday. :( sucks It seems we are up to ~ $500 $100 for accepting $79 for the CPR/BLS class $225 for the physical and titers $58 for background check and fingerprints $40 for DCF letter *sigh* and I'm still missing the book for the CPR/BLS class, the scrubs and equipment, what else??? Sheesh[/quote']

I know it is crazy expensive. I did the fingerprints today they said nothing about the letter and mdc only says to click on the medical campus students link so that is all I am doing. 40 dollars could go towards the 80 dollar stethoscope we are required to buy.

Alrighty!

Thank you everyone for the help!

@phait it was a typo... I meant Nov 8th. : )

but ended up switching to the class on Nov 3rd now. lol

Was just more convenient for me.

I am also doing the class on nov 3!

Criminal Background Check

On mdc website Generic FT - Homestead - Admission Information - Miami Dade College

Successfully complete and clear the MDC vendor level two criminal background screening. You will need to click here and select Medical Campus to schedule an appointment for your background check. It must be no later that the date indicated in your e email.

Above it says to select medical campus it is fifth on the list.

DCF letter is eleventh option on the bottom

I also did my fingerprints yesterday and nobody asked me about no DCF letter. Also on the mdc website for full time generic homestead it does not mentioned anything about DCF only level two criminal background check so in the meantime that is all am going to do until further notice.

I called the School of Nursing and I MADE them call be back when they got a straight answer on the DCF letter. She personally asked the Dean of Nursing about it and said we need BOTH backgrounds, that yes we have to pay the $58 AND the $40 because we need 2 separate sets of prints. The DCF is for Clinicals, the other one if for MDC. She said you can make your fingerprint appointments on the same day/time but show both receipts and get 2 fingerprint sets.

@ariestwin thanks for the info. I honestly haven't had the time to call but I had already paid the $40 for the stupid CDF.

So am guessing we dont have to register for classes until orientation right?

I went to the office today and they confirmed we needed DCF, they say the hospitals require it. I bought 3 uniform tops today, no pants and that cost me $95. Happy my TB was negative so I didn't have to pay $45 for chest X-ray. This is adding up.

Can you purchase the uniform with financial aid?

from what i understood, yes. I think you can use the book advance but I don't know when they deposit the book advance into the account.
