  1. Wow those manuals we have to print out are huge! I guess we have to run to office depot to print them out because I doubt I have that much ink or paper at home. I bet most of us aren't going to catch that email on time and have it for Orientation tomorrow anyways.
  2. @Lizpanther. PM me your email address and I will add you if you cant find it. The group is called MDC Nursing AO 2014
  3. To all our MDC nursing veterans lie AllyWill and MiamiE ...how strict are the professors in regards to textbook editions? Especially small things like medical encyclopedia , can we get a previous edition? Truly how many new medical definitions can they add in a year?

  5. @Chris I made an accelerated FB page....search MDC Nursing AO 2014. If you can't find it give me your email and I will add you.
  6. Ok so I called the wellness center and they said they still don't have TB tests but that the nursing school is aware and we will be fine if we don't have them done by orientation that it just needs to be done before clinicals. Also if we already paid at the Wellness center the Miami rescue won't honor that payment and we would have to pay an additional $15 for each TB test. Those $30 can better serve me by paying for the flu shot. Either way I'm calling the nursing department today to confirm.
  7. Thanks AllyWill for the info :-) looks like I might invest in a rolling bag so that I can stay on campus and study.
  8. @Miri ...so they had the TB test today? They told me they completely ran out and it would prob be over a week before they got anything
  9. @AlliWill In regards to rolling backpack. Do we need one because we are expected to bring our textbooks to class? or we need it just to have our books handy for studying, nursing supplies etc? Also the $100 nurse pack they make us buy ( with IV, bandages, etc) do you actually use it and will they tell you specific days to bring it?
  10. Hello everyone. Just a heads up for those going to the wellness center. I went today and can confirm it takes a looong time but more importantly they are COMPLETELY OUT of TB test. I was able to do the physical, titers etc but have to make a separate trip for TB and then 2 other trips for second dose/results.
  11. I called the School of Nursing and I MADE them call be back when they got a straight answer on the DCF letter. She personally asked the Dean of Nursing about it and said we need BOTH backgrounds, that yes we have to pay the $58 AND the $40 because we need 2 separate sets of prints. The DCF is for Clinicals, the other one if for MDC. She said you can make your fingerprint appointments on the same day/time but show both receipts and get 2 fingerprint sets.
  12. @JLa.....I'm noticing A LOT of people are declining AO and choosing generic full time so definitely don't lose faith! You will get in.
  13. I'm so annoyed about this DCF background. More $ and its the same thing. Besides it said its for citrus house only. I have an appointment for Monday to get fingerprinted...do I need to get fingerprinted twice that day then ?
  14. This makes no sense...The DCF one asked for the same information and fingerprints. What is the difference?
  15. OK AO folks try searching -MDC Nursing AO 2014 on FB
