I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!
I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol
Wolanskia, please dont give up. I think the best thing we can do is continue to take certificate courses like CPR and other health related mini courses that can raise our awareness assisting patients care. If we don't make it this round, we will make it in the next one. There are other schools out there, don't give up and be carefull trying to do it quicker in a private technical school and then your credits are non transferrable to a BSN, Master and Phd. I have a Bachelor's Degree that I can't apply at my job, huge debt in financial aid, mom of lousy teenagers that drive me up the wall, work in a hostile work environment and I am not giving up. I will push and push till I get what I want inside my heart. I am taking a class in the summer and have 48 CEU's that I need to complete before Sept 1st or I will loose my massage license, plus I am taking a test this August to try and get into the Mercy Program. If I can do this, you can do it again if you don't get it. It's mind over matter, block everthing else out and stay positive.

gmarie7, thanks for the support, im not giving up for sure, i'm gonna retake the teas test again and try again for winter addmission. everything happens for a reason, i'll get to save all winter long and go in with a bigger savings! trying to look at it in a positive way before i go crazy! lol :smackingf

I would recommend everyone get in touch with Advising and verify your information is correct, if you have any questions...it might turn things around! Don't write it off until you know for sure!
OH MDC!! All that anxious waiting for nothing! I am very happy for you and glad that you didn't leave it be. You may have missed the deadline if you did.

I had the issue for the spring application that just passed before this one. It was when they changed all the requirements and said that you had to COMPLETE the classes. I thought life was over but then I quickly just saw it as an opportunity to save up and get better prepared. I'll tell you this, once you accomplish getting in, it makes no difference if you waited a few months more. At the end of the day, you have worked hard and dedicated your life to helping other people. Keep that perspective and no obstacle will get you down. You can do it and to all that didn't make it this time, just keep pushing. Nothing can get in the way of what you want to accomplish if you truly strive to accomplish it.
There's a quote that I keep framed right next to my bathroom sink for me to read every morning that has kept my hopes up when I think theres nowhere to go. I want to share it with everyone here, accepted or not, because there's a long road ahead for all of us:

Keep believing and don't let anyone tell you different.

What's the name of the advisor u spoke to PLEASE?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!! because I, too, went to speak to an advisor. She told me that she cant let me know if I got in or not because they dont know and that I'll have to wait for an email and acceptance email will still be going out, all this week.

OK I think everything is finally starting to sink in!! At first I was feeling so overwhelmed but now I am starting to get really excited!! We should try to get a good study group together...so who on here was accepted for the generic full time that wants to study!! =) And to those who havn't heard yet don't fret yet...it seems like a lot of ppl got accepted to more than one program and they can only go to one of them so I am sure the second wave of emails will go out soon!! =)
