Hi guys! Who else is applying for MDC Fall 2011?
I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!
I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol
Well good luck to us all! :heartbeat
hello everyone: i am new here and this is my first post. i am also waiting to find out if i will be accepted. i applied to the lpn program because my teas score was too low. even though i am new here, i have been following your posts for a couple of days and i must say that i have shared anticipation, sleeping with my phone, tears, pain and joy with all of you. that's when i decided, i need to join this thread. kudos, to all of you for being there for each other. i have never seen such camaraderie amongst people that you guys have built around each other. you took the time to seek information about the status of the emails and not let others fall apart. you will be a success as a nurse because at the end of the day, it's a job about caring about others. congrats, to those that passed and to those that are still waiting like me, if we don't get in this time, we will get in next time. trust me when i tell you that you cannot fail unless you stop trying. for me, it was a matter of time management and studying more. now, i am studying to try and get into the lpn program at mercy hospital, test date in august 2011. btw- in previous posts, don't remember which one but one of you expressed an interest in relocating to miami. let me know, i live in a duplex and the back apt will be available on july 1st. it 5 min from 836 hwy, cgables, winn dixie, kmart, publix, mia airport, 10 min from medical campus and interamerican campus. this rents fast because of the location. rent is 700.00 mth (includes water/elect). it has a private entrance, super quiet and great for studying. let me know if you're interested, before i advertise. 305-812-8896/gloria.

gmarie...stupid question..but are you also asking for deposit and security??
Just wanted to let the ones know who did not get in...I went today the medical campus and they said that all of the acceptance emails went out yesterday..now the school is just waiting for people to accept or decline so that they can fill in more seats. The deadline to accept or decline is June 24 which is next Friday. .so we're not gonna know anything else until after that date..I have cried like a baby today..the worse part was telling my boys that I did not get in. I feel like a failure in their eyes..I have a 3.82 GPA and a 78.7 on my TEAS and have worked my ass of for 2 1/2 years to get to this..people with a GPA of 3.4 but a TEAS of 82 got in..I'm sorry I don't mean to sound so hostile..I just need to be sad for a couple of days and regroup:crying2:
I feel your pain!!!! I am also waiting for my email, and as things goes I know that I am on the pool of applicants that are waiting for someone to reject their seat, so I can get mine. And if that makes you feel any better I got 70 on the TEAS and 3.0 gpa, I am still keeping my hopes up, but to be honest you have a better chance to get in then I do, so don't think of you as a loser because there are people that are worse than you LOL!!!! Well, let's not give up just yet, we still have a chance!!!!
Good luck!!!!

Don't worry you'll get in to something try bcc or linsey hopkins or reapply. But honestly did the other person to intro. to health or some of the requirements for the bachelors i think it helps their chances.
mocadell74:
i cried like a baby when i didnt get into my first choice school however i knew the whole reason i started to was to be a nurse and was because of the info. i got about the accelerated program at mdc. But i got into Dade's REapply in the spring, apply to bcc the hesi to me was easier and there is no waiting list. Don't give up, you'll be a if you persevere.
ON EAGLES WINGS I hope you're right...I do believe that acceptance emails will continue to go out until the 30th of June after they know who accepts or declines after the 24. I spoke to the adviser that everyone has talked about..Olga..and she took me to her office and let me know what to expect.I really appreciate you running to advisement though..that's awesome of you! I just have to leave it in God's hands and see what happens...
And what did Olga told you??? Study and reapply or wait until everyone accept/ reject their seats???
We are both in the same boat, so whatever you find out will help me as well!!! Thank you!!!!
Guys you know the clinic that you get the drug test done for 35 bucks they do the test based on your income you bring social, id, income tax and you can be a walk in or set an appointment but it will take a week or two. But it's cheaper than dade if you don't make much i'm gonna try to go tommorow.
is it free or cheaper if done at mdc campus? I was kind of confused when i was filling out the forms and chose one of the fingerprint businesses they listed. They charged me $68, but then i went to the direct site of the fingerprint place and the prices seem cheaper - so not sure if i'm being ripped off. Something also seemed odd because all the appointment times were open too. But then on their site it says you don't even need an appointment accept on saturday. Sorry if this is confusing, just wanting to share some of the stuff i'm encountering.
finger printing is five bucks but level two can only be done by the fbi and take 4 to 6 weeks and you have to get finger prints done for a total of 5 plus 18 but you don't have that time so it's best to pay $68.
