Hi guys! Who else is applying for MDC Fall 2011?
I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!
I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol
Well good luck to us all! :heartbeat
On eagles wings =) I am mostly cleaning right now haha! and organizing...getting ready for my summer classes that start on the 9th...too soon =/ trying to relax and exercise too while I have some time. I love yoga =) I just got a bunch of those review and rationals book i ordered off of amazon also so I am looking through those...spending a lot of time on allnurses reading different things...most of it is just scaring me though haha! How are you getting your physical and stuff done so soon, I assumed they would give us certain paperwork that we would have to have everything filled out on?
Long story short... I wanted to go to medical school so I pursued this masters degree to help with my application. In the process, I had an increasing interest in anesthesiology, but that would take so many more years of schooling. My undergrad gpa is not very competitive by most people's standards so I decided to do this with the help of my advisor and chair of the nursing program. Also, I didn't want to accrue much more debt than I already have from undergrad and this masters program. To be quite frank, the job market is pretty bad, even with a masters in biomedical science. Besides, nursing is very dynamic and can lead in virtually any direction, which is a huge plus in my opinion. :)
oh i have so much to clean too! i have to get rid of so much junk to make up space for all those books comin' up reviews and rationals is really good...i got the fundamentals one so i want to look over that. and i really want to catch up on my ap stuff. i've forgotten so much... lol i love reading the study skills posts on here. i copied and pasted tons of posts on OneNote and i am going to print them out come orientation.
ohhh well i got accepted last year so i have the little packet they give. i kept it all so that i could use them for this term LOL. if you want i can scan it or something and send it to you in case you want to get ahead too!

oh i really wish you the best of luck in your decision!!!! i think that's why we all chose nursing... it is very dynamic. so much you can do and so much growth. i hope you get all your questions answered. have you gone in person to the nursing dept or admissions/advisement???
On eagles wings- oh wow! that would be awsome I will PM you my email =) Yea I am trying to figure out if my financial aid would pay for my CPR class if I take it at Med Campus...i saw my advisor the other day and totally forgot to ask i called down there a little while ago but they are sooo swamped! they are directing traffic they said haha! so I figure now is not the best time to ask hehe I am just neurotic and wanted to check and make sure my app is in and everything too haha =)
jfrommich- Wow that is really rough to go through all that schooling and not be able to find a job I am sorry =( CRNA is a long track too you need to have I think atleast a couple years RN experience before you can apply to a program but atleast you will be making money while working on your long term goal =) I hope everything works out for you!
wish us all the best of luck. june is right around the corner :redbeathePS anyone started preparing for the program? i know i am "running" here, but i'm excited. finished my last final exams yesterday. have summer off except work. so i am going to do my physical and check my immunizations in a few weeks so i won't be running to get everything done for orientation(*assuming* i am getting accepted lol).
i'm also trying to get fit :uhoh21: and will try to save as much $$$ as i can! i really want to be as stable financially and healthy as i can for the program.
what about you all?
This is potentially a dumb question, but I'll ask anyway. What are the physical exam and immunization requirements for the program? I know they also require a Federal background check and CPR certification, do we have to get each from a specific organization?
Hi Everyone, I took the TEAS today (it was also my 2nd time) and got 82 but after reading everyones scores I'm pretty worried! I applied to generic and accelerated hoping I'll get in to one of them. I can't believe we have to wait 2 more months! Oh and I'm only applying to MDC like a few of you, it's my only option at this point.
