MDC Fall 2019 Nursing

Published

Hello fellow students! I wanted to create a topic for those who are planning on starting the MDC Nursing program in the Fall of 2019. It's never too early to be well prepared. LOL. I have a B.A. and was able to get some of my credits transferred to the A.S. I read through the thread for the Fall of 2018 class and the Spring of 2019 class. Both threads have some very useful information regarding how to study for the HESI, scores needed to get into the program, etc. and many people from those groups keep in touch in Facebook and via Whatsapp. I'm looking for a support/study group for those that are in the same timeline as I am. Just starting BSC2086 A&P 2/lab and MGF1106 next week at Kendall/Homestead campuses. Also, looking for P/T work at Baptist Hospital or MDC. I am anticipating taking Microbiology and the Intro to Healthcare in the Spring '19, along with the HESI. Hope to meet some great people on here!

?. That was funny. Welcome and good luck! Let us know how you do. What program would you be applying to?

Hi Grisso,

I definitely plan on applying to both the full time and part-time just to increase my chances since they're both reviewed separately from each other. I prefer the full-time though. I may be out of luck with the location however, it seems as though they determine what campus you are assigned based on your location. Ill keep posted on my exam results! Good luck to you as well!

Yes I was a little nervous about my score, but my fingers are crossed. Honestly for me they asked only 2 questions off the periodic table from what I can remember, but all the test are different and it would be good to know it all just in case they do ask you just a random one. Are you applying for the medical campus or homestead ?

For the AO option, it would be Medical and the Full time will be Homestead since I fall in that area.

Yes, they do determine the campus based on your home address. I would fall under Homestead since I'm in SW Kendall. I'm still considering AO option also.

I know that we we all get in cant wait for us to come back here after stressing and say congratulations to each other..........my optimism though

Hi MDC Nurse Shanna, dont worry you will do well. Study from the pocket prep app and the Hessi book. I used those and they really helped me alot. The pocket prep app questions give you a feel for how the questions are going to be, I would do atleast once practice exam everyday and I really think that made a diffrence for me. Good Luck!

You'll do great! Long as you put in the work and study you see you'll be rewarded for the effort. Just make sure to read the questions well and take your time. It's a 4 hour test so theres plenty of it. Most of the time mistakes are made from not reading the questions thoroughly. Then you go back and realize it was a silly mistake here and there. I know it happens to me all the time.

thanks guys I know we will all get in

Anyone else taking their test soon? I've got 10 days to go!!

I took the HESI and got a 84%
