U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

I just found out that I was accepted into MCPHS for spring of 09'. I am so excited and I can't wait to begin.

I am wondering if anyone else has been accepted or is applying!

Cassie

hi everyone

i'm in the same boat too. i really hope they send something soon along with a cost estimate for the program. the only thing i've received have been the medical forms and stuff. are you all from the central massachusetts area? i live locally but have been debating moving to worcester.

either way i can't wait to start the program and meet all of you. i'm thrilled we will be doing a lot of clinical. worcester has some great hospitals especially umass memorial.

brian

I'm super excited to start too and meet everyone!! That's why I'm so anxious to get all this payment stuff over and done with. I only received the medical forms too.

Erin

I only recieved the medical forms as well...I still have to get those filled out! Argh!

I am wicked excited about the program, too! I am from central Mass and I had my son at UMass Memorial (I was also born there myself, and so was my mother!) so I am excited to be able to do cliniclas there as well!

Brian (catamounts303) - Did you go to UVM? I noticed your "catamounts" name and thought maybe you had?I went there for my BA! I graduated in 2004.

Hi Smurfette,

I did go to UVM! I graduated with a BA in 2003. I too am from central Mass just near the Marlboro area. Sometimes I really miss Vermont especially around this time of year. Just this past winter I went up and the campus has really changed.

Maybe we know eachother? I took German for my major but also a lot of Psychology courses for the minor. I too am very excited about umass memorial. I worked there for a bit and remember how the nurses particularly on the intensive care units loved to teach. They also had tons of nurse practitioners who worked on all the different services. I'm so glad we're in a BSN program. There are so many options if we ever wanted to continue on for a masters.

Well, it looks like I am not the only one to be in debt until I die after all.:chuckle

I believe it's a very good investment so I do not care if I owe tons of money for this program. I am too excited to start, I can't wait.

Best of luck!

hey everyone!

I'm super excited to start as well and meeting everyone! I hear all of you in being frustrated about not hearing back about financial aid- I'm checking the mail box anxiously every day! They said beginning of oct they would send it out so I'm waiting till the end of the week and I'll try to call and see whats going on because this is crazy! I haven't even tried to apply for private loans yet but I'm sure they are being extremely stingy and will need co-signers.

So I checked on the website if you go to mcphs and the 16 month bsn program then hit tuition and fees and then important dates...not to make anyone nervous but it says the tuition payment deadline is actually Dec 14th! There is also a break down of tuition and fees on there as well. Def I would say at least 200 a sem for books but who knows. In debt is not even the word for it. I also wish I had done nursing for my first undergrad but theres no going back now. I'm just looking forward to the future and being a nurse!

Hi Guys...This is so funny. I went to UVM too! I graduated in 2007 with my BS in Nutrition and cannot wait to start courses for my accelerated nursing degree from MCPHS! Smurfette..I too am in loads of debt from getting my first bachelors degree (I'm from MA so VT was out of state), so hopefully we will receive the financial aid information from the school soon! And if anyone has any questions about Worcester you can ask me because I've lived here for basically my entire life! Can't wait to see you all in January!

~Lisa

Hey Lisa!!!! Wow 3 UVMers!!!!! What a small world!!!!! Glad to see you!

Hi Everyone! Has anyone heard or received ANYTHING about loans/tuition yet?! I'm still waiting for the loan office to reply to my 3 emails!!

I just can't wait to start!!!

Erin:loveya:

I haven't heard anything yet either!!! It's driving me nuts! I'd like to get everything in order well before we begin!

~Stephanie

Lisa so nice to meet you! I think its so cool to have three uvmers in the program. I too am from central MA. I also haven't heard anything about tuition, loans, etc just the medical forms. I'm not sure if I'm going to move to Worcester since i'm only 30 minutes away. Is anyone else relocating to be closer to the campus?

Brian

I just sent an email out to the financial aid department, to see when the aid packages are coming out. As soon as I hear back, I will let you all know.

I think it's really funny that there are so many UVm' ers here. My boyfriend graduated from there in 2002.
