    Two patients at once

Does anyone here take care of two patients at once in a home? What was your increase in pay for taking care of the second patient?

    MCPHS vs. Lawrence Memorial

We are just finishing our first rotation of clinicals. We finish thursday, then we have a final on Monday and we are off for 3 weeks! I am at Whittier Rehab on their medically complex unit. I am really enjoying it! I like our clinical professor and the staff are very friendly. We get to deal with lots of ventilators and g-tubes, which some of the other locations do not get to see as much. We have a pretty awesome class. Everyone is very friendly to each other. They go out for drinks after the end of each semester. Everyone is very helpful with eachother. Our's classes age range is a bit younger than previous classes. We run from 23-34. That's awesome that you are coming in January! You won't regret the decision! Feel free to ask any questions! I know that I was very curious waiting to begin the program!

    MCPHS vs. Lawrence Memorial

I go to MCPHS Worcester for the accelerated nursing program. I really like it. It is definitely fast paced and not for the faint of heart, but it is so worth it. I'll be, technically, finishing my "second year" in 2 weeks and I've only been going since Jan. The professors are very friendly and helpful and the program is small, so you get to be close to your classmates, which provides a good support system. The labs are very well equipt, so you get good practice before going out in the field. I would definitely recommend the school, especially if you want to be finished quickly!

    Pediatric Oncology Nursing

I am currently in an accelerated BSN program in Massachusetts. I am writing a paper, in regards to a nursing role that I would like to go into. I would really like to work in Pediatric Onology Nursing. I was wondering if anyone could help me with some information that I looking for. There is not much info out there about this speciality. Would anyone know what kind of educational requirements are needed for this? Also, how did anyone you get started in this speciality. Also, if any pediatric oncology nurses are willing to answer a few questions from me, sort of an informal interview by email, please let me know. Thank you so much for your help. I look forward to hearing from you. Cassie

    MCPHS Spring 2009

Does any one know what they are doing for parking? I'm getting a little bit freaked out about that. I definitely cannot afford 95 bucks a month to park in the garage. And I researched other places around Downtown and they are even more for monthly parking passes. So, I was just wondering what everyone else was doing! Have a wonderful holiday!

    MCPHS Spring 2009

I am trying to be overly organized about this. I made an excel spreadsheet and price them all at amazon. Then I went to half.com, which is an ebay company and price them there. You can't get all of them there, but some of them. You also have to pay individual shipping, but it still comes out to be alot cheaper. Then, I went to that Lippincott publishers website and priced those ones cause we get 20% off. When you take all three websites into account, you can get it down to around 580, including the shipping on half.com. I agree, I can't afford 95 bucks a month for parking! I'm not going to be able to keep my babysitting job and I have a car payment and insurance.... so I'm gonna have to find another job at night. I'm either going to take the shuttle from WSC, or take the public bus. I'm hoping spots open up after the spring. Good luck looking for books!

    MCPHS Spring 2009

So, has everyone recieved the email from the school. I almost choked when I added up the cost of books. It came to almost 800 dollars! But checking around, I got the price down to 580, getting some of them used. What is everyone doing for parking, since they are on waitlist?

Oh I totally agree. It was one of the harder things that I've done, asking my grandma to co-sign! Good luck with the co-signing thing! Hopefully he says yes!

I got rejected too, from Sallie Mae. When I called, they said that they lowered the max. amount of loans that they will allow one person to take out. I had maxed it out with my first degree. But I got my grandma to cosign for me and they gave it to me at that point. But I was definitely freaking out for a few days!! Don't give up! See if a cosigner would help. Good Luck!

    MCPHS Spring 2009

So, I recieved my bill today, but with no health insurance waiver and no summer semester listed. So, I have how much the spring is going to cost but that is it! Do you think we'll get more than one bill? I seriously don't remember this much confusion and fustration during my first bachelor's degree!!

    MCPHS Spring 2009

I was just looking for the hours we are going to be in class. I had heard the same thing, that it was an 8-4 kind of thing. But then I got a bit of a tentative schedule from same persn at the admissions office and it is not like that at all. But there is one class not on the schedule, Nursing 226 which is a 6 credit class. So I'm curious to see how that is going to fall into the schedule. I don't nanny every day. It''s one day a week and I was hoping to keep that. The parents are willing to work around my schedule, even if I can only work 1 half day. But I just would like to know before Orientation, you know? Any way, if you happen to hear anything else about the schedule, I would be very much appreciated!

    MCPHS Spring 2009

I have a quick question for everyone. Does anyone have a clue about what our what our schedule is going to look like? I got a bit of an idea from someone in the admissions office, but Nursing 226, which is a 6 credit class is not listed....So it sort of brough me back to square one. I really need to know for my job. I work as a nanny, and I need to know if I should give my notice for the family. I know how hard it is to find good child care!
