  1. Has anyone heard anything from Hartford Hospital??? :)
  2. Has anyone heard anything yet from Hartford Hospital? I heard from the Nursing Recruiter and she said that she was shopping my information around to a few hiring managers, but i haven't heard anything yet as of an interview or what not. What about you guys????
  3. Hey guys...for those who have not received the emails from MCPHS yet...what email server do you use? I wasn't receiving them either until I checked my SPAM folder and bam there they were (I use gmail), so maybe check there? And does anyone know the Worcester bus schedule? I live pretty near the school...right across from WPI, but still too far away to walk
  4. Hi Riley...I've decided on MCPHS. The program is more expensive, but I think it will be worth it in the end. Commuting that much will definitely wear on me, plus the 16 months is such an intensive program, and the commute would take at least two hours a day away from studying time. And since I won't be commuting so much I will have more time to work at my part time job and use more of that towards school. I also heard that we don't have much choice in where we do our clinicals, and it's possible that we could be assigned at a hospital anywhere from an hour east or west of UMASS. There is no way that I am going to drive over four hours for clinicals, including there and back...especially not in inclement weather. It was a tough decision, but I wish you luck in making it! Let me know what you decide!!!!
  5. I called the financial aid office a few hours ago but unfortunately have no call back! Im still confused as to how much to take out in loans as well..and exactly how much they are adding to the the bill for room and board. The health insurace waivers, however, are online through the MCPH website, on the financial aid homepage, so I assume you can just print them out and mail them in.
  6. Thanks! I am still a little confused as well. Math was never my strong suit. I'm still wondering where they got the 33,660 number from??? I am definitely going to have to call them tomorrow morning, and I have a feeling they will be hearing from a lot of us. And the cost that the financial aid officer gave you....do you think he was figuring in books as well as fees? I am also going to have to buy health insurance through the school since I no longer will be working full time. I think while I await an answer I'm going to go buy a few scratch tickets and pray for a miracle!
  7. Hi guys, has anyone figured out what the total cost of the 16month program is going to be??? In my financial aid package it lists 33,660, but they make it seem like this is only for the spring and summer of 2009, since this the period the financial aid package they gave me is supposed to cover. Are they accidentally including room & board? Or is this the total amount for the entire program. Only the spring and summer cannot amount to 33,660 without room and board!!
  8. Thanks for all the information!! Did anyone else get their financial aid information yet??? I haven't!
  9. Hi Guys, I have heard absolutely nothing as well and am super nervous! The tuition is going to be the biggest thing for me, and who has good credit these days??
  10. Hi Guys...This is so funny. I went to UVM too! I graduated in 2007 with my BS in Nutrition and cannot wait to start courses for my accelerated nursing degree from MCPHS! Smurfette..I too am in loads of debt from getting my first bachelors degree (I'm from MA so VT was out of state), so hopefully we will receive the financial aid information from the school soon! And if anyone has any questions about Worcester you can ask me because I've lived here for basically my entire life! Can't wait to see you all in January! ~Lisa
  11. Hi guys I applied to the Umass Accelerated program as well and am waiting to hear from them! I also got accepted into MCPHS and am not sure which program I would rather be in. MCPHS is much more expensive but i live right down the street from the school so I just can't figure it out. Where are you guys looking to live in Amherst? Do you know what the rent rates are? ~Lisa:rolleyes:
