hi guys, just wondering if anybody can give some tips or advice for mcc's hesi entrance exam. also do you guys know how many questions there are in the whole test and/or each section? and do you think a 95 on the hesi and a great GPA is a shoe in already? any other info would bre great, thank you much!!
Hi CorazonDeOro,I want to take advantage of your knowledge on whats on the test.
My first question is the math. were there a lot of conversions and military time and so forth?
With the reading comprehension, how hard was that? Also someone told me that there were a lot of Medical terms on the vocabulary section, are there? I just want to get down everything that I need to study.
Thanks!
yeah there were at least 5 or 6 questions about conversions. Most were simple, like "how many meters in a kilometer". A couple involved ounces, such as ounces to liters or cups. There was one or two military time questions, but they were really simple. As for reading comprehension, its hard to study for that but just take your time. Its not that hard, but you just have to make sure you understand what they are asking you.
Here, here! Any help in these areas (especially what I have bolded) would be great! I have finals to study for, and I want to make sure I'm studying the "right" info for the HESI.
Toxic Shock, I got your PM and I am not able to respond to it. I can't figure it out! Anyway, IT sounds like you are fine with conversions, there were no tablespoons or anything on the test I took. There were just meters to kilometers, centimeters, and some ounces. It really wasnt that bad, I was really afraid cuz I only practiced my conversions the week before. Also, I know you asked if you get the results right away, and yes you do. It gives you the score for each section immediately after you finish and start a new section. After the test you get a print out of how you did.
I think the last thing in your message was about the 2008 scores...I did go to a meeting that said the bottom 5 last year averaged like a 92 and a 3.7 GPA..I am not sure if that is correct though, but I am sure someone has posted in on here before.
Hope that helps! GOOD LUCK!
I am surprised how much info everyone shares with their competition regarding the test. Sorry, it might be nice, but this program is really competitive and the person you give info to could beat your score and take your spot.
How refreshing it is that CorozonDeOro does not get caught up in the competition and is actually willing to help people. I think its great! You know what they say (what goes around comes around)

Look fact is the program only accepts 160 people out of 1000. Odds are not in everyones favor. I am not saying the gesture isn't nice and appreciated by those who have not taken it, but IMO some things are better kept to yourself. I was not trying to single out CorozonDeOro because there are other related posts, and the same thing last year when I took it. My point was be cautious what you say because it could hurt you in the end. Again
BTW, there have been 408 views of this thread. I wonder how many of them are taking the Hesi too and trying to get any info that will help them score higher than the next person.

well without the info I got on this board from others regarding the program I would probably know nothing and be really scared, so I am just sharing like everyone else. I am confident enough in myself that I have no problem giving friendly advice. Basically everyone who gives advice is just reiderating what the study guide says.

I think everyone knows this already. We're all adults here, and are perfectly capable of making the deicision to help out another person or not. If you don't want to give out any "insider tips", don't. If you do want to give out tips, do.
Worry about your own life instead of what other people are doing with theirs. Sometimes the sharing of insider info can turn around and help you in the end.
Aren't you already in the program? If so, why do you care? just sayin', etc.

Well, you might be confident, but what about the person that doesnt know about this board, it isnt fair to them.
