about mcc's HESI

Published

hi guys, just wondering if anybody can give some tips or advice for mcc's hesi entrance exam. also do you guys know how many questions there are in the whole test and/or each section? and do you think a 95 on the hesi and a great GPA is a shoe in already? any other info would bre great, thank you much!!:D

I would think that a lot of people that did not get in last time would have repeated the test again to get a higher score to have a better chance to get in unless their GPA was the problem last time, or they were trying for the additional spots. I know that if I do not get in I will be taking the test again next year.

I think the previous poster means that despite repeating the test, the applicant might have done better the previous year, making the average score of the hesi this year, off when trying to figure out what scores will be competitive.

Shannonmarie7,

Thank you for all your leg work.

Makes sense, I was thinking it was reusing last years test in this years application. What happens if you retest and did do worse, I'm assuming they use the highest score?

Welcome:D

Shannonmarie7,

Thank you for all your leg work.

FYI,

Test scores are also good for 5 years. Some people could have better scores from previous years.

Right, some people I know last year retook the test even though they had a decent score (over 90%). The problem was GPA, so they took bs classes to bring it up. That's why the change to admissions will be a good thing.
