about mcc's HESI

Published

hi guys, just wondering if anybody can give some tips or advice for mcc's hesi entrance exam. also do you guys know how many questions there are in the whole test and/or each section? and do you think a 95 on the hesi and a great GPA is a shoe in already? any other info would bre great, thank you much!!:D

I think everyone knows this already. We're all adults here, and are perfectly capable of making the deicision to help out another person or not. If you don't want to give out any "insider tips", don't. If you do want to give out tips, do.

Worry about your own life instead of what other people are doing with theirs. Sometimes the sharing of insider info can turn around and help you in the end.

Aren't you already in the program? If so, why do you care? :twocents: just sayin', etc.

Chill out, it was just an observation. Besides, if someone is that freaked out about taking a jr high level test just wait til nsg school. :chuckle

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to be prepared. I don't think people are worried about the content, but are instead worried that they won't be prepared, fail the test, and not make it into the program. It doesn't help when they've got some condescending dick on the internet making them feel like idiots.

My suggestion, is review reading comprehension for the test. You have totally misunderstood my point. Anyway, enough said.

Well, you might be confident, but what about the person that doesnt know about this board, it isnt fair to them.

I did my research while applying to schools, if other people don't do research as well then that is not my problem. Its not like anyone is giving away a copy of the test to anyone else. You can get the SAME INFORMATION in the study guide published by HESI. I am sure you didn't go into the HESI completely blind, with no idea of what the test was all about.

yeah there were at least 5 or 6 questions about conversions. Most were simple, like "how many meters in a kilometer". A couple involved ounces, such as ounces to liters or cups. There was one or two military time questions, but they were really simple. As for reading comprehension, its hard to study for that but just take your time. Its not that hard, but you just have to make sure you understand what they are asking you.

Quote "there were no Tablespoons or anything on the test I took. There were just meters to kilometers, centimeters, and some ounces."

Hmmm, sounds specific to me.

:lol2: You guys are funny.

I argee with jabraham.... it's all about creating Karma!! :wink2:

yeah it is specific and also happens to be straight from the study guide that everyone has. groundbreaking information obviously.

Does anyone know what the lowest gpa/hesi score that got in was? I'm wondering what a competitive score would be. :specs:

I'm not 100% certain, but I -think- it was a 94 for last year (fall 2008). What his/her GPA was I don't know, but don't forget that GPA does play a factor!

I'm hoping someone can confirm/deny this number as well.

I went to an informational meeting and this is what I wrote down from what the advisor said:

2008 last 5 students accepted..AVERAGE HESI 94.2 AVERAGE GPA 3.68

2007 last 5 students accepted...AVERAGE HESI 94 AVERAGE GPA 3.75

Keep in mind that those are average scores of accepted students 116 thru 120.
