MCC nursing applicants for 2015

Published

Hello everyone!

I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.

Kristi I admire your determination you will definitely get it this year :-) I'm praying for you I know you have it tho. .. I have a question maybe someone can shine some light on I completed English 1210 on Feb 12 and got an A+ BUT it took them some time for the actual grade to post on web adviser do you guys think they will use my A+ since the course was completed before Feb 14 or do you think they will use the grade from last semester ... Which was a b+ ... If they use the A+ I will have all As in my prerequs besides AnP WHICH I GOT a B+ IN but my hesi is only a 82 ... I'm just praying to make the last alternative spot if not I will be repeating AnP IN FALL for A+ n retaking the hesi ... What do you guys think

@Deanna you should have received a letter in the mail stating the exact GPA they will be using. I would call and they can tell you.

When did you get your letter?

In 2013 the letters came a couple weeks after the due date of Feb 15. Maybe you guys haven't gotten them yet, but you will!

Yeah I remember last year getting a letter stating my exact GPA and Hesi they had on file, but this year I haven't gotten anything like that and it's making me suuuuuuper Nervous :'( I want to know they have the right GPA for me on file. I retook some classes so I really hope they took the right grades. I'm pretty worried about it.

Has anyone gotten a letter like that yet? The one that states your GPA and HESI score you are applying with??

For those of you wondering, I called selective admissions today and asked about the confirmation letters. They have not sent those out yet, she said within the next few weeks when they begin ranking. Also, expect the admission letters to come last week of April at earliest, and mid May at latest.

ooooh ok sweet. Thanks so much for posting that on here!

The following is a timeline of the letters I received last year:

Dated: April 14, 2014

It states:

-- GPA used for ranking and then it states the Composite Score Used for Ranking

-- Will begin ranking on April 24

-- If there is a discrepancy to contact the office by April 23

Dated: April 25, 2014

-- We are pleased to offer you admission to the Nursing Program Fall term 2014.

-- Drop off $100 by May 07, 2014 to save your spot

-- Attached letter to that states Mandatory Orientation, May 21, 2014 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Once you have this letter, take your $100 to the cashier and save your spot. At that time you may request your ranking in person.

Then you do a funky happy dance alllll the way back to your car.

Dated: June 2014

-- This letter will state when your start date (Aug, Oct, Jan, Mar) and first date of class.

Give or take a few days in 2015. You have a better idea of what to expect!

Hope that helps.

Thank you so much for the info @giggy2! I'll keep those dates in mind so I know when to start to get excited for the mail to come lol
