MCC nursing applicants for 2015

Published

Hello everyone!

I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.

Really? Do they have one application per year? Maybe it would be a good idea to submit two apps to be more competitive?

I want to stay with MCC mostly because of the transfer agreement with MSU.

They have their application once a year like mcc. You can actually apply in the fall there. Did you take microbiology yet?

No, I haven't. At my school in Texas, we were required to take a lot more pre-reqs so I have basically nothing I need. Intro and Micro will have to be fall classes for me. It's going to be rough, but I really want to apply this coming February. If I dedicate myself this summer and do well in this A&P class I'm sure it will boost my confidence.

would you want to do a study group for the Hesi? I think I'd like to start preparing with a group in August after A&P.

Specializes in RETIRED Cath Lab/Cardiology/Radiology.

Mperczi- I don't believe we are allowed to post specific professor names, are we?

You are correct, Terms of Service prohibit names, initials and other identifiers.

Thanks! :)

Hey people!! I am looking forward to coming hear next year to hear that you all made it!

it is not easy, but don't give up! you can do it. For those who don't know me, I applied last year but I wasn't accepted. Thank God, this year I was able to make into the program!

I had to retake micro and English so I could improve my gpa. I also retook the hesi.

the hesi book does help a lot, that's pretty much all I used. I found the vocabulary portion the hardest. Another helpful way to prepare for the hesi is using the website called Quizlet. It is free, and super helpful. If you have a smartphone you can study anytime/anywhere! There are note cards, games, and many other ways to study. And that's not only for the hesi, you can find almost anything on that website!! It is awesome!

I'll always come check on you! I am make sure to let you know how is the program and everything else that comes with it!

again don't give up! God has a plan for you! I will be praying for you all!!

God bless!

If you have any question just let me know!

I'm certainly going to take everyone's advice and start reviewing for the test now.

My class is all paid for so now it's just a matter of getting the book and waiting for it to start.

I also downloaded the Quizlet app onto my iPad so I'll let you all know how that goes
