MCC nursing applicants for 2015

Hello everyone!

I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.:up:

I know as long as I score with at least a 90% I will get in!

@marrisa sings if u can try n take anp this summer I took anp last summer got a b+ would ofreceived an a bit iI missed a 100point lab :( tho its demanding its worth it and u will b done in 6to8 weeks I only say this. Because I met over 4 girls who were in my micro class they all ended up dropping micro to complete anp ... because of how demanding of a class it was literally each n e eryone of them dropped micro .. ... and @kristii I didnt make it this yr but we will def get next yr ... does anyone know if english 1210 is acceptable as a prereq and I also feel the hesi is more important than gpa because as kristii says pep with low gpa got in with high hesi scores but pep with low hesi scores didnt get in with high gpa .... hope this helps sum guys gud luck

Math is my very worst subject! That's why I want to run through as many practice booklets and prep questions as possible during the months leading up to taking the exam. Just thinking about math makes me nervous!!

With math its hust learning the concepts once u get your conversions down pack n percentages u will b able to solve most of the math problems on the test .... dont worry the problems in the practice book are identical to the ones on test

That's really reassuring! I'm going to be purchasing the practice book when I buy my text book for A&P. I downloaded quizlet, but I'm not really finding it that helpful. I am trying to look for other app for the iPad.

Maria- I'll look up what exactly I need and the price it's going for and I'll let you know! I was hoping to find something used for less than the bookstore anyway so that would be awesome!!

Okay :) I honestly forgot what I got mine for but I think it was around $160-190 from the bookstore at macomb. My professor was notes only though so I opened it once I think lol

Hi!!!! My name is Deonnia and I'm gonna apply for the 2015 nursing program. I'm really excited and hope I do well and get in. I already took Intro to Nursing and English 1210, I am currently taking Bio 2730 now for the summer and then I'm taking AP during the fall then I will be done with the classes. Has anyone taken the HESI before? This will be my first time taking it, someone suggested that I get the HESI Study Book so I plan on getting it.

Hi Deonnia!

I've never taken the HESI but I just ordered the prep book for pick-up at Center Campus. I'm going to start looking over it toward the end of this summer A&P class then probably start doing a weekly review.

The math is absolutely going to need to be what I focus most on. I hope to find a study buddy that does well in math so that I can strengthen that skill!

Hey, everyone! My name is Jessica. I've been a lurker on these threads for awhile. I am applying for 2015. I have only Micro left to take in the Fall. I am retaking A&P to try for an A. I got a B last time. I wish the best for everyone! Glad someone started a 2015 thread. :)
