Hello everyone!
I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.
The classes you have to take are Eng 1210 or 1180, AP,Intro to Nursing, Microbiology ( you have two options to pick from for the biology class) they also want Nutrition to be taken but they only look at the first four classes that I listed when you apply to the program
Also I think they do offer the LPN but Im not 100% sure. I hope this helps!
MJAC1985 i dont think it will hurt u at all because i failed 2semesters at a previous school because of health problems they did not have the amenities to help me there but i applied this yr and tho i didnt make it because i only got 3.47 and 82 on hesi i still ranked pretty good so noooo i think u will be fine ..to those taki g all classes in one semester I WOULD NOT RECOMENDIT you literally need dam near an a in every course to assure u a spot i have a A in patho micro A in nursing B+ in anp and b in english so i did pretty good but the program is intense so if u think u can get all As and maybe a b with taking all pre requs in one semester go for it ... dont slack om your grades because u are rushing because in the end it can take even more time if u dont make it first cut ... i cant stress enough how important it is to keep a A in every course guys. ...... Btwplanning on starting a study group in late august for the hesi test ... i received a 82 which isnt that bad. So i can give a hand to others on what i know will b on the test n others can give their input .... if you are interested let me know please

It seems like the best thing for you to do would be to review the information on the Macomb Community College website. There is a program and informational links to most of the nursing program's specific details.
You should maybe look into speaking to an advisor or counselor on campus as well. They can give you any info you need and answer all your questions. Depending on your interests, they may also be able to help you determine which program is right for you.
