MCC nursing applicants for 2015

Published

Hello everyone!

I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.

I am taking both in fall too! I will try and even if I have to retake them again, I want to at least try to get in for 2015.

Same here its worth a shot! Maybe we will get in one together. Actually im going to tey all 4 this semester

Does anyone know where I can find out what books I need for the following classes? -- intro. To nursing. .anatomy and path. Micro biology? Oh and what is the best book option for the hesi test?

you can go to macomb bookstore online and put in the class and they will list what books you need

Definitely! I already took intro to nursing and I am either taking english or CLEPing it, in addition to taking both sciences. Should be fun! haha

Hi guys, I just got accepted into the nursing program and I am starting this August. I know how stressful everything is when your trying to get in and get the best grades you can. I took A&P and PathoMicro at the same time and I was able to achieve an A in both classes, it was tough though. Overall I had an A in those two classes and a B in Intro to Nursing and English, with those combined grades my overall GPA for application was 3.675 and I got a 92 on my essay, my ranking was a 41. I definitely think the Hesi has more to do with your acceptance and rank than the gpa alone.

Thank you for the encouraging words, i will be taking anp and path together in the fall I hope it goes well for me, I have faith that I will do fine because I am determined to make it in the nursing program: )

Deanna, same here! I want to speak with someone at MSU about all of their transfer programs/options once we're further along.

Is anybody taking all 4 pre req together this fall? I know you may look down on this but just want to see if anybody else is going to attempt it.

I hope you find someone that's doing the same thing Mjac! It's great to have someone to have your back and vice versa. A support system is super important (in my opinion) when you're going through this process.

Just to update you guys, I started the A&P class on Monday. My first two major exams are next Tuesday, so if you've got a few extra good vibes...send them this way! :bookworm::bookworm::bookworm:
