MCC nursing applicants for 2015

Published

Hello everyone!

I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.

Thank you!!!!! So helpful

You're welcome, good luck!

By the way does anyone know what the so called nursing school/clinical schedule is at MCC? Do we get to schedule our own times? Does it all vary or is it consistent? I'm trying to find out in order to determine whether I'll be able to keep my job, or start looking for something more flexible....I am working M-F 2pm-6:30pm after school care for children so it is not flexible...does anyone know this information??...

@Sarahjeanleach, I'm not sure. I heard it was full time/day time, so I'm not sure what hours that would be. I would ask in another thread. People who are already in the program.

@GiveMeTheCoffee, How did you do?? We can finally relax for a week or so!

Hey! I did alright. If I don't have an A then I for sure have a B+. The real question is whether or not that will be good enough. :sarcastic:

I think what I'm going to do it take another English this semester and apply to both Oakland CC and Macomb. If my grades stay up for this semester then hopefully I'll get in somewhere!!

I am going to start studying for the Hesi too.

Hopefully it is good enough! My professor even said she knows a few students who got in with a B. I just didn't want to wait another year, I want to have the grades at least, so I made sure to get an A.

I got an A!!! I am so excited right now. Whew! I am so relieved. I worked my butt off for that A. Thank God the first time was a charm for that insane class. I am NEVER taking a summer science again.

See! I told you! The last unit was easier compared to the other three. Good job! And I totally know what you mean. I did Bio 1000 the first half of Summer and did A&P the second half. I had no life for 3 months!

What do you have left again? I am starting Micro and Intro on the 25th. I am getting so excited for this application- I have to get on studying for that Hesi now! I'm also starting to reconsider applying to Oakland. That was more of a backup plan.

I only have Micro left to take in the Fall. I'm nervous, because the professor I got stuck with I heard wasn't very good. I'm taking Nutrition as well. So far I have an A in English and A&P and I got a B+ in Intro to Nursing. I didn't have a very good teacher for that. She never wanted to be there and it was obvious. We had to teach ourselves. A B+ was a 91.5%. They grade differently in the Nursing program I guess.

Im also thinking about applying to occ. all the nurses from work say its SO much easier to get in. also the hesi test for them is only on english and math.
