Mayo Clinic Nurse Residency (Az) February 2022

Published

Hey, everyone. I know it's pretty early, but I have had my eye on the Mayo Clinic Nurse Residency program in Arizona for a while. I will be graduating in December and plan on applying to their February 2022 cohort. I have seen other threads from previous cohorts that keep up with the process, information, and support each other along the way.

If you are interested in applying to this program, this thread is for you!

About me: I am from out of state, which is why I am pretty anxious to hear more information on the program. I would love to do critical care. I have not seen the residency program posted on the job board yet, so hopefully, we can keep each other updated.

Good luck to all of you!

Yes! That would be the best! That’s how I felt about my interview as well! The interviewers were so patient with me and let me really critically think which was helpful. I interviewed for the ICU but said I am also interested in PCU. The ICU questions were tough but I feel pretty confident about my answers. The interview was the hardest one I have had before! I am glad the hard part is done ?

yes it would be a great opportunity especially as new nurses to get some hands on!

I am currently studying for my exit exam that’s in 5 days so time is going so slow with that and waiting to hear back from Mayo as well! I hope we get some news soon ??

This was my first interview experience, so I did not know what to expect! I was so nervous, haha, but I am glad the hard part is over! I rushed a little for the first scenario because I was so nervous, but I feel confident in my answers as well! If anything, I am glad I had this opportunity to get some practice for future interviews.

I hope so too- The waiting period is the most dreadful! Ah, so close to being done! How exciting and congratulations ?

Those of you that have gotten a call… what does your last name start with? And when did you have your interview?
I had mine fairly early and I’m worried they are making calls by when interviews happened…

I don’t believe that’s the case because a friend of mine interviewed after me and got a call before me. She applied for an ICU position so maybe it’s based on unit.

Oh that makes me feel so much better. Thank you!

Congratulations to your friend on the ICU position! Interviewed for that unit as well as PCU. I know they mentioned there was only one spot in ICU so that means I didn’t get that. I hope they are still considering me for PCU!

They did not specify what floor she will be on! But she did get a call saying a spot was confirmed.

My interview was on the 24th, got a call on the 1st. Last name starts with P.
I was interviewing for PCU (I really wanted ICU) but any unit would be a valuable experience.

Just got a call from the nursing placement office saying that I should expect to receive a call from HR within a couple of weeks. Did anyone else get a call like this?

Hey! I just got that call too!

I got this call too and asked “does this mean I got into the residency program” and she said “I’m just the messenger to let you know interviews are over” super interesting call but I think it’s a positive!

I know! I didn’t ask but she said that she has no details. I was so excited for nothing. It makes me nervous! Do they call us or email if we are denied?
