Mayo Clinic Nurse Residency (Az) February 2022

Published

Hey, everyone. I know it's pretty early, but I have had my eye on the Mayo Clinic Nurse Residency program in Arizona for a while. I will be graduating in December and plan on applying to their February 2022 cohort. I have seen other threads from previous cohorts that keep up with the process, information, and support each other along the way.

If you are interested in applying to this program, this thread is for you!

About me: I am from out of state, which is why I am pretty anxious to hear more information on the program. I would love to do critical care. I have not seen the residency program posted on the job board yet, so hopefully, we can keep each other updated.

Good luck to all of you!

Oh okay, I didn’t receive another call but on the phone the lady sounded really promising and said to expect a call from HR. She was from nursing placement so I am hoping that it true.

Should I call and clarify? Or just hang tight? I have 2 jobs waiting to hear back from me but I can’t make any decisions until I hear from Mayo.

If they said that you will receive a call/email from HR then that will be for a job offer.

thank you! I just hope I didn’t mishear. I wish they were more clear on the phone call! I know people that haven’t gotten any calls today but it’s still early but I can’t imagine nursing placement calling unless they accepted us

Just called back and it was to clarify that it was an offer! ? yay us!

Yay!! So exciting!!

Congratulations! So if you got a call stating you are gonna hear from HR that is an offer, you just don’t know which unit right?

Yes. There's no other reason for HR to call you.

Correct ? the “official offer call” some weeks from now should tell you the unit and shift.

This phone call was just a “fyi, congratulations you got in” call, which I appreciate ? Rather than being anxious, I think this is the happy waiting time period ?

Yes so happy, no more stressing about it! Excited to see where we will all be placed.

Thanks for clarifying! That’s what I thought but I few comment on here made me question. We can all focus on exit and NCLEX in peace.

My first and second choice was ER and PCU.

I was surprised to see that there was no ER or ICU in the options list that they showed me during the 2nd interview. Especially because during their virtual career fair I talked to a recruiter who did say there were positions for both. Someone in this forum also interviewed for the ICU.

I wonder if they “hold a slot” for people and update the list accordingly? ? Eitherway, I’m happy for everyone ? Also nervous cause I told them I want PCU and I’m fine with any other ? So they could put me anywhere really.
