May Nclex takers...come and join hands...

apparently, ive been waiting for other people to start a support group for may nclex takers.....but no....so here i am.....

im taking my nclex on the 7th of may...hopefully, i pass this time. im tired of living a non-RN life......

Hi All,

I took mine on Saturday May 17th, I had a little bit of everything...peds, psych, med surg, 1 ob question, I had lots of meds (that I had never heard of), 10+ priority, 10+ Safety (correct safety precautions to use with particular disease/infection, who would you put with this patient), 3 math (easy! know mcg/kg/min flow rates and BSA) and get this....23 SATA!!! It was rough!! It took me over 2 hours to take 75 questions...the SATA were brutal! One SATA asked me what meds given for a particular disease would I question (not common diseases or meds) Yikes!

I left with a huge knot in my stomach and thought I had failed when it shut off at 75. I found out I passed on Tuesday morning and I could not believe it. I didn't believe everyone when they told me I would feel like I failed when I left. I have never failed any exam, so it felt horrible! But yes you do feel like you failed. No matter how prepared you are, especially with that many SATA! I used Kaplan Qbank and Saunders 3rd edition to prepare for the questions and I felt that they were very similar to Kaplan.

Ca will not issue you a license without a SSN, You have 3 years to provide them with a SSN otherwise they will delete your file. Much has been written in the International forum regarding this. All you will receive is a letter stating you passed NCLEX and meet licensure requirements

Really?! :omy: so what will happen if they delete your file after 3yrs? will we need to take the nclex exam again?:sstrs: i hope not.:plsebeg:

May is coming to an end, I wanted to wish the last upcoming test takers the very best of luck.

Give congrats to those who have passed.

Offer encouragement to those who will test again-and WILL PASS !!!

lend a shoulder for support to those STILL in the "waiting period"-

I guess they will close this thread after may is over sooo ill be all over differnet areas-(in the nclex area)

The May family helped me, i attribute a lot of my success of passing to the support i got in here (and allnurses in general)...

the fact is no one knows what we (nclex takers, especially re-peat takers), no one knows what we go through, family and freinds unaffiliated with nursing and how the nclex works..its not "just a test"-"your smart, why cant you pass it ??" " i dont see why you just cant get a C on that durned test ??!" etc

its nice to have a place like this so you dont feel alone and everyone speaks "your language". and more importantly understands.

hi to all. I took the exam last may 22, i already paid pearsonvue for quick result and the status is pass, however, i can't see my name on the board website. My friends who took up the exam a week before me already have their name in the board website earlier than the availability of the quick result. i'm confused, what's the quick result look like? is this the one with the status of pass? is this reliable?

If they delete your file then your NCLEX results are also lost. Please check out the International forum under the region tab as much has already been written there on Ca

..no, i didnt i was going to..my plan (for my 3rd time) was to do the kaplan qtrainer, the saunders book, and the buy the kaplan q bank

i did all the qtrainers but when i finished them, i was like a week out from my test and i really couldnt do 1200+ more questions--i felt "ready"

then, when i thought i had failed for the 3rd time--i was going to just buy the whole kaplan complete--and go with a friend of mine...i told him that if i didnt see my name online in 10 days then on the 11th day, i was going to buy it--fortunately i got lucky and passed.

but i would definitely reccomed it !--ALLL the students in my class that took kaplan passed the exam--the ones (like me) that took other courses had varied results..

i feel for (us) (repeat test takers) and for you GWAFUH, (IF, you didnt pass) then dpo Kaplan, you have enough nursing content, so focus more on test taking strategies and Kaplan will do that and we all know the questions are more like the NCLEX than any other material

thanks for the advice jon.I'll be enrolling at kaplan next week and hopefully by mid july or august,im now ready to take the exam.

Advice to everyone- Kaplan test prep course rocks!!! I took NCLEX first time and I passed. I graduated Nursing School 15 years ago in Ukraine.
