apparently, ive been waiting for other people to start a support group for may nclex takers.....but no....so here i am.....
im taking my nclex on the 7th of may...hopefully, i pass this time. im tired of living a non-RN life......
Hi everyone,
Just thought i should come in and wish everyone preparing for the exam good luck.
I did it on the first of may for the second time and passed with 75 questions, went to the kaplan review, did all the question trainers and q bank and it helped a lot.
Dont forget to pay a lot of attention to infection control, pharmacology, diabetes, endocrine disorders and electrolyte imbalance. I know its a lot but had a lot of those questions along with SATA, delegation and priority questions.
Wishing everyone all the best and if anyone needs help, will be ready to help.
God bless and you are all in my prayers.
Hiya,
For the kaplan, i did not read the whole book but watched and listened to the online content review, the subjects i thought were my weak ones, they really helped and i also listened to the pharmaclogy content review over and over again, did it when i was cooking, doing housework and all that.
On the last week before the exam, i listened and went through the review of questions online, that really helped cos they really explain how they came up with the answer.
Hope this helps and good luck.
..Well i JUST had the scariest moment everI went to check todays mail and inside my mailbox was "the BIG envelope" from the CA BRN--
I froze.
did they make a mistake in passing me ?--did i put the wrong name in the comp for the website ??
..i felt nauseous.
..i grabed it, the SAME BIG envelope i got both time i failed the test.
i read the name.
It was for my wife from the BRN, she was selected for a questionaire .

i simply looked up to the heavens and said
"not funny"

:chuckle:hhmth::weathersunsmall: That was too funny
hey here is something. pearson vue gave me a pamplet when i took the nclex.
when a candidate runs out of time before completing the maximum number of items, the following rule will be applied: the candidate will pass if their ability estimate has remained above the passing standard for the last 60 items. the candidate will fail if their ability estimate was below the passing standard for any of the last 60 items. this does not mean that you have to answer 60 items correctly
i know we've been discussing this a bit and just thought i'd share :)
Congrats to you Male nurses Rock!!!!! Right on you did it. I've been cking back here to see when you would pass. Have yourself a great career. Do you know where you'll be going to work. I've been hanging out in the First year nurses forum. A great place to get advice vent and be with fellow nurses in our first year.
Anyway great job and congrats to you and all the new RN's this month.

JON-"he who put a boot in the NCLEX's ......:) "
Hey everyone, you have all been supportive to ones who have taken the NCLEX this month so far. Hang in there...and ones who didn't pass...pick the books back up and schedule your next test date. You will pass this exam!
I am going on my fourth time taking this exam. I am keeping it rolling, and believe me there have been days that I just felt like giving up, and thinking this career is not for me. But my passion for Nursing, just doesn't allow me to turn my back on it. I just have to keep on. And I am, so I know all of you who don't believe in it right now, can too!
Over the last 2 years I have been reading all of these posts to keep me motivated. And it has really worked!
My big day, once again is May 19. My prayers have kept me strong to keep studying, reviewing and practicing my questions.
......Good luck to you guys who have a test date coming up this week.
:heartbeat:redbeathe:typing
To all of you who have passed on your 2nd or more time I salute you! In school I admired those that came back after failing a semester and trying again. I am taking mine for the first time soon..I have not set a date as I have not received my authorization to test yet. I am studying as much as I can as I have started working and have been spending time with my family, those people that I reintroduced myself to after pinning. Now that the festivities are over I did attend a review course that we paid for at school and I am trying to do 100 questions a day but the most motivation I get to study comes from all of you on this thread. Thanks so much and good luck to everyone. You all inspire me.
In the last few months I have kicked cancers butt, nursing schools butt and soon hope to say the NCLEX's butt! If I do not do it the first time I will take heed from those of you here and try, try again!
