I had an appointment this past week with an admission's advisor for the Maryville U online FNP program. I was really impressed with how she described the program and since our conversation I have been able to easily get in touch with her through email. I can not say the same for University of Cincinnati. I have emailed my advisor and she has yet to get in touch with me nor call me back. Simmons College's advisor has also been very helpful and is great with the follow up phone calls. This makes me think that these are my two programs that I will apply. My only concern is, that when I research Maryville's program on here to read reviews I have seen a lot of mixed reviews. Most of these reviews were from a year or so back when the program was still so new to online. What I would like to know is how are current Maryville students liking the program? Is it user friendly? Work load manageable with working and family life? Do you feel like the program is giving you a great education and preparing you to become a well versed and knowledgable FNP that will pass boards?
Just good time management, like any other online program. Don't sweat the small stuff, I see students write novels for discussion boards. They want some good info with one or two sources and that's it. There's a lot of group work early on, but the clinical semesters it gets easier. Look for preceptors earlier, esp for peds/ob. Follow the rubrics for assignments. Get involved with online study groups!!!!
Hi nurses 😊
I just got accepted for the Maryville fnp program for spring 2018 and was wondering if anyone here will be in that group as well?
And how is the reviews for the fnp program so far for those in the classes already? Is it any better?
I have a choice to make between 2 schools so pls respond
Thank you
One of my co-workers is currently attending FNP at South. She works full-time as private duty nurse. She states it's hard but doable. I personally attended South ( online) for half of my BSN. It was pleasant experience. Just very expensive. I am 52 years old and I need the extra time that Maryville provides. I don't want to feel very stressed or rushed. So, far I have had pleasant experience at Maryville. My admission advisor is very attentive. I have submitted all my documents and should know soon. I don't think you will go wrong with either program. Good Luck!

Hello, I thinking about applying. How do you like it so far?
