University of Maryland Traditional BSN Fall Program: Any idea when we will hear back?

U.S.A. Maryland

Published

I was wondering if there was anyone out there that applied last fall that could tell us when they learned the fate of their application? I was just wondering how long we (Fall 2009 applicants) would have to wait until we hear back from the admissions office. Thanks and good luck to everyone else!

jd14326,

$900 in books and supplies for the semester or for the year?

Here is my bill.

Online Bill Payment

Total Credit Hours: 15.000

Tuition and Fees for Fall 2009

Description

Amount

Registration Fees

$947.50

Hospitalization Insurance

$1,152.00

Registration Tuition

$3,445.00

Total Charge:

$5,544.50

For supplies, I spent like 80 for steth, 60 for scrubs, coat. Maybe $300 for books and other supplies.

Thanks Agrippa. That gives me a pretty good idea of the financial aspect of it. I believe my grants will cover most if not all the tuition and fees and the VA covers my health insurance so I don't think I will need the Hospitalization insurance. Thanks again for your help.

About the NET, how far in advance can you take it? I didn't see that info on the college website.

Also, can you be in your last semester of school when you apply for the SON, so that there isn't a semester lag between? For example, If I apply Fall 2010 for the Spring 2011 semester, the deadline is September 2010. I would still be taking my prereq classes. I would have them completed by the Spring start date. Can that be done? Or would I have to wait to apply for the Fall 2011 semester?

At the time of application, you must have completed 2 of your 4 science pre reqs. But the remaining pre-reqs must be completed with at least a B.

I took the NET before I even applied. It is pretty straight forward if you know what you will be up against. I bought the study guide from the company that made the test and it was exactly what was on it. I think i made it in the 99th percentile - which sounds great but is really no big deal considering that the SAT's were harder.

If you'd like to pick up my study guide, ill sell it at a discount. Just PM me.

What company made the test?

I think it was Pearson

Yup, pearson.

Also, does anyone else think these "clickers" for pathopharm are a bit of a novelty? I mean, this really seems totally unnecessary. These clickers are $55!!!

I mean, sure it may have it's advantages over other simple and free methods such as a show of hands (like anonymity), but c'mon, in our current economic climate, I think that this Professor should be a bit more mindful. Especially because the level of financial aid I got wasn't really quite adequate.

PS. I found that you can get the clicker cheaper online directly through Turning Point.

* TurningPoint online purchase option: TurningPoint online store (be sure to use discount code: gGRS.) Prices include shipping and handling -- RF model: $32.95, XR model: $44.95.

Furthermore, couldn't the school just buy a few sets of these and keep them in each class for us to use? Do we ALL really need to get our own?

I forgot to buy mine when I went out there to get the rest of my stuff..... The professor might use it as a grade..... When I went to Salisbury the teachers would ask questions in class and it would count as part of your test grade

Do you guys know the website i can get the study guide from?
